Is it possible for your HCG levels to drop but you not lose the baby. I was tested and 2 days later tested again and the Dr. said the levels have dropped and want me to retest in 3 days but I have no symptoms of miscarring I am not spotting or cramping??? Any Answers??

I had an experience with dropping levels and it actually turned out to be a blighted ovum. It could really be a number of things though. They will need to check it throughout the course of several days to see if it is going down continuously each time.

abnormal HCG levels can indicate issues with the pregnancy. Ectopic, molar, blighted ovum, or missed abortion (I hate that terminology)- There is a recent post that one of our members made where she was told she had a missed abortion, went back for a follow up and low and behold there was baby alive and kicking. I believe I read that her levels went down and now they are going up, according to her testimony- I will say yes to your question it is possible.

A low hCG level can mean any number of things and should be rechecked within 48-72 hours to see how the level is changing. A low hCG level could indicate:
Miscalculation of pregnancy dating
Possible miscarriage or blighted ovum
Ectopic pregnancy

HCG Levels should continue to rise through the majority of pregnancy.

You might not have any symptoms of miscarrying but if they keep dropping then yes you will go through one but if they rise then your baby has a higher chance of surviving. Just pray and keep your faith.

If there is a detectable fetal heart rate then you have a good chance. If no heartbeat has been detected, then your doc should keep checking your levels every 2 days (they don't necessarily have to double, but they should at least be increasing). If your levels don't increase then the pregnancy isn't viable and you will probably miscarry on your own. I'm so sorry you're going through this. I hope your levels start increasing and you hear that heartbeat soon.
