I had my first doc visit today. i went in thinking i was 10 weeks 3 days along, only to find out that Im only 8 weeks. It has something to do with my period, and ovualtion times. But i am very disappointed and sad about this. Has anyone had this happen and if so how did you get over this 2 week miscalculation?

mommy-of-3 - 103 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Oh how frustrating! When you're pregnant that's all you do is count down days isn't it? How far along you are, how many days until your due date,whew... At least it was only 2 weeks, I know it's a disappointment for you but it could have been miscalculated by a lot more, then you would really feel frustrated.

lulizzle - 105 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) My doc was about a month off! It was so sad reading the same weeks over again on this website. I finally got through it once I got passed for the first week that wasn't a repeat. And I kept reminding myself that now I just have more time to prepare mentally and finacially! Trust me...you'll forget they even messed it up after a while!

LMO - 107 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) the doctors just basically guess

Zenzabar - 107 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) sometimes i think doctors are wrong. when i found out i was pg i estimated my due date to be dec 12th. well i went to the doctor and they changed it to the 17th because of my u/s. my baby girl was born on the 12th my original due date!

MelissaJoanne - 107 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Due dates are just an estimate. It's understandable to be upset about having to wait another two weeks, but it is better to know. You baby could easily be born exactly when you first thought anyway.

Carmione - 107 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I felt similar disappointment as I kept getting different due dates by them calculating gestational age by size. It's not an exact science, but early on in pregnancy- they have a window of 7-10 days give or take for accuracy. The further along you are the easier it is to recognize and give appropriate due dates. At first they go by your LMP and later they can change that based on size at your 20 weeks anatomy scan.

2nd1ontheway - 108 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) It is better to know the correct date inorder to make sure you are meeting all of the milestones.

ryanzbabi - 110 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I did! I went in thinking I was 7 weeks and my doctor said I am about 4 weeks. I was upset But I rather know the correct date. Cheer up atleast your baby is strong and growing. Some women are not so lucky ... I was one of those women last year !

captshelley - 110 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I understand your disappointment. Now you have 2 extra weeks to wait that you thought you had already gone through. That sucks. I had 3 DD's and focused on the earliest one. By the time you get close to any of the due dates it's all so exciting. Also, by about the 38th week your mind will start to think "any day now" so go with the date you want to. Know one has to know.

mercy - 111 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) The same thing happened to me. When I calculate using my LMP I'm due May 6th, but by the ultra sound the doctor says I'm due MAY 15th. My first baby I calculated by my LMP and it was on point, but so was my ultra Sound date. The baby will come when he/she is ready -don't stress it or worry too much about it.

princessrsx - 111 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) The same thing did happen to me, at my first dr visit they said I was about 2 weeks behind where I thought I was. I had calculated according to my last period, but the doc said I must have ovulated late. Don't worry, the time will go so fast that you'll forget all about those 2 weeks!

Ma2B - 112 days ago its not so much the due date- i dont care about that... its that i was already 8 weeks pregnant. i thought we would be able to hear our babies hear beating, i was just really disappointed. thank you for your comments though.

NorthDay - 112 days ago Rating: 2 (1 votes) I believe that they say that a normal pregnancy is 38-42 weeks anyway, averaging 40 weeks. My ultrasound came back that I was 18 weeks when I thought I was 19. My doctor said that they don't even change your due date unless you are more than 2 weeks out. I wouldn't be upset about it, just think about how to keep yourself and your baby healthy for the months to come!

OurBabyBean0508 - 112 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Due dates are only an estimate anyway. Plus, if this is your first child you could likely go over your due date by up to 2 weeks! So, really you haven't lost anything at all. Just keep in mind that you still have a healthy baby and try to stay positive. Babies come when they are ready, regardless of the due date on your medical chart. Good luck and congrats!

ghmom - 112 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I have had 3 due dates now. Fortunatly, they keep bumping me up. I have decided to wait until the ultrasound to have a due date. From what I am told, the ultrasound is going to be more acurate then them going of your last cycle or measurement. I tell everyone who asks me right now that I am due sometime in September.
