How long does it take for your period to come after you give birth vaginally? It has been 6 weeks for me and I still haven`t gotten one and it don`t seem like it`s coming. I am concerned because my husband and I have been having unprotected sex.

It can take a while for your cycle to return to normal again, but I have also heard you are very fertile right after giving birth. If you aren't pregnant again I would get on the pill or some other form of bc because it will happen.

If you are not wanting to get pregnant again right away, I would start using some sort of BC. Within the first 6 weeks after giving birth you can become fertile again- with or without the onset of a period.

I took a test a couple days ago and it was negative...i also started my period yesterday (yay) so i am okay. also my doc said it was okay for us to have sex after the 4th week. so that's why we were having sex before the 6th week.

First of all Dr.'s recommend to not have sex for atleast 6 weeks. If you are nursing then it will take longer to get your period. Also, keep in mind you can get pregnant before you get your first period.

I would do a pregnancy test to be sure but most people take a couple of months before things return to normal. I'm breatfeeding and only got my first period at 5 months along.

It all depends, everyone's body is different just like every baby is different. If you are breastfeeding it could be a year before you start your period. Just to be safe you should get on a birth control.

I read your question. no, I do not think that 18 is too young to have a child. Your an adult and since your 35 weeks along I'm sure you are more than ready to start being a mom to your little one! I am a firm believer that God does not put anything on us more than we can bare. I believe that every baby is a blessing and things happen for a reason. God knew that you needed your little one. I hope this helps. Ps- you'll be fine we have it instiled in us to be good mothers that's what we were made for!

It usually takes anywhere from 4 to 8 weeks. So you still have a little while to wait and find out for sure.

my friend who was breastfeeding didnt have her period for around 5 months after giving birth. on the opposite ive got them 1 months after giving birth. but i was not breastfeeding my baby was on formula.
well if you had unprotected sex you should check with a pregnancy test just to be sure! its the easiest way to figure out.

i breastfed, and didn't get a period until i was feeding solids on a fairly regular basis, around 6-7 months. i would though buy a test, just to be sure, because if you arent having periods, then you wont necessarily know when you are likely to ovulate
