due date question

I am really not sure what week I am up to as my first u/s (at 5.1 weeks )said dd was Sept 19th then my u/s at 11 weeks they said my due date was 13th Sept. I look bigger than I should but this is my fourth pregnancy. My uterus feels as though it is just under my belly button perhaps an inch. But I am not feeling definate movements - Oh yes and according to my LMP date it should be 9th Sept so there is a difference of 10 days. Ps the first u/s was done by a general u/s place, the second was done by highly qualified ultrasonographers in the city that cost a fortune. What does everyone think?

mommy-of-3 - 102 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I have always heard that ultrasounds taken very early on are best at determining due date because at that stage babies will develop at the same rate to give you a more accurate determination. I guess I would go with your first ultrasound date until you have another one around 18 weeks, then they can measure the size of the baby and your uterus which also gives them a really good indication of your due date. Hope this helps...

riknlee - 105 days ago Thanks once again for your comments. As this baby was planned I was charting temperatures and signs and didn't ovulate when I should have. Also when my period was due I took a test and it came back neg so clearly I ovulated late and conceived later; otherwise I would have gone by the lmp date and not bothered with the dating ultrasound.

mzmommy2b - 105 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) In my opinion the earliest ultrasound is most accurate. All babies grow at the same rate up until about 9 weeks and after that, the hormones, and your body control the babies grown. I would go by your 5 week ultrasound date. Either way, they are not too far apart and you can just choose. The baby will come when it wants to!

mattie4 - 105 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) they usually go by the first one. Going by the U.Sounds well the difference is really only 6 days, i dont think they will change the due date for that. This is also my 4th and things are popping out faster and well i am alot more uncomfortable with this one than with my others, i was also told this was normal. Anyhow :) congrats

MelissaJoanne - 106 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) If you know the first day of your last period, go with that. The u/s dating just goes by size, and your baby may be bigger or smaller than average.

ttasha - 106 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) well to be honest you could just count 40 weeks from your period to get a rough accurate if you want but its sounds as if your due between the 9th and the 13th

captshelley - 109 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) My last missed period meant the DD is Dec. 12, Doctor DD was Dec. 14, U/S DD was Dec. 17. I had her Dec. 14th.

gwen85 - 109 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i think u should go with your 11wk scan, the first 1 the baby is to small for any1 to tell you when it is due, but as you know by experience a baby comes when its ready.

Mommyof2boys - 110 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) With every pregnancy you have its normal to be bigger with each one after the first and so on thats because all of the muscles have streched so its easier for that to be filled up faster than it was when it was the first and it had to grow to that size, its like a rubber band. Now with the due date your doctor should be able to tell you later on how the baby is measuring not every baby is born on their exact due date. I would go with your LMP's on what they think the edd is not the u/s place you went to.
