I found out with one of my kids at 16 weeks so yes you can definitely find out at 18. Good luck, it's such an exciting experience!

I found out at 18 weeks! I think that the earliest that you can get an accurate answer is 17 weeks. This is because before then, your baby has not even grown a "specific gender part down there". They all start off with the same thing.

That's not too early at all. Depending on the accuracy of your due date and measurements- if you're a bit earlier than expected it may be a little harder to tell- but one good reference that I was able to use when we went in was the good ole "three line" visual, which indicated that our Bun was a girl. Check out a few ultrasound pictures to test your eye at determining boy from girl. I did it and it was fun, challenging at first- but once you know what you're looking for- it's a cake walk!

I hear 20 is best, but your doctor might be able to tell for sure at 18.
Evidently at 12 weeks there is a 50% accuracy rate for u/s gender prediction, which I find pretty laughable. I could predict the gender with 50% accuracy without an ultrasound!

I found out at 13 weeks I was having a boy. I think its easier to "see" that its a boy though. I had a 3d scan though. Definitely by 20 weeks but you should be able to tell now.

I found out my baby's sex through a regular u/s at 17 weeks. I've heard that any earlier decreases the accuracy of the guess, but mine was very obviously a boy at 17 weeks. Just had my 20 wk u/s and, yep, still a boy!

I went for my 18 week u/s when you should be able to tell but my lil one didn't want us to know that day so I finally found out at 24 weeks, I had a friend who found out when they did her 16th week but thats a little soon its different for everyone, If you plan on doing a planned one I would schedule it for 20 weeks just to be on the safe side.

We've got our u/s appt for week 18....I've heard anywhere between 18-22 weeks is a good time. you may check with insurance as some will only pay for the u/s at 20 or later.

By ultrasound you can get a good guess around 15 weeks and a better guess around 16 weeks and beyond. Most doctors wait until the big 20 week anatomy ultrasound and do it together. Amniocentesis can detect the sex much much earlier.

If you go to a very high tech ultrasound place they can start to tell the sex at about 15 weeks. Although many places will not give you a real confirmation until you've reached 17 weeks. At this point they should have NO problem identifying the sex on a regular 2d ultrasound. So, you should be in very good shape at 18 weeks! We had our appointment when I was 17 weeks but we went to a 3d & 4d ultrasound place that had all the latest equipment. Good luck doll and congratulations!

You can tell the sex asearly as 16 weeks although most places wont guarantee anything at that time. It is best to wait until 20 weeks for a clear view when getting scanned. So at 18 weeks you should get an answer.
Good Luck with the rest of your pregnancy. xx
