I had my daughter almost 10 months ago. I still have not had my AF return. I know 100%, I`m not pregnant. I am still breastfeeding, but night feedings have stopped, and daytime feedings are less frequent now that she can eat other foods. When should i expect its horrible return?

it really depends on your body every woman is different with my first af returned at six months i wish i had went to ten or more months

There is no way to know when to expect its return. Just enjoy the fact that it hasn't returned!

Well as the days are getting more infrequent, it'll probably come back soon ( month or so)BUT One of mine I had to finish feeding COMPLETELY before they came back! Luky me, that was nearly 18ths!LOL

I believe it's different for every women, especially when breastfeeding... some get it 6 weeks later, some a year later. Wow - enjoy the AF free time!

Well if you are, not feeding at night and day time feedings are getting less, then if you are having un-protected sex, then you can get pregnant!! I say to be glad for now and when you are done nursing the cycles should resume!! SO god bless and Good luck!!

If you aren't having any other complications, I wouldn't be too concerned about it. Also if you are actively working out, running etc for health reasons, this can be something too that would prevent your cycle from kicking back in. Gently discuss with your Dr to get some peace of mind if this worry becomes too troublesome. Take care!

Some people do not get thier period until they completley stop breastfeeding. I wouldn't worry too much I would take it as a blessing. I got mine 2 months after my son was born and I was still breastfeeding.

Everyone's body is so different. I nursed both of my children for 12-14 months and got my period back around 11 months old. My sister, however, nursed for 14 months and got her period back right away. For some, breastfeeding really does halt AF. It may take you actually weaning to get yours back. Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!!!

this happened to me also, i fed my daughter for 14 months, twice during the night until she was 10 months. i didn't get my AF until shortly before her first birthday. generally, this is very common, its natures way of lessening the chances of you becoming pregnant again while you still have a very young baby. needless to say, this would have to be one of the least reliable forms of birth control, but i personally was so relieved to not have the additional hassle of AF during the first year of my babies life!

I had breastfed my son for a year and I did not get my AF until 2 mos after I stopped. So I didn't have it for 14mos and his feedings had stopped during the day but he still did like one night feeding. I think its different for everyone, I was glad I didn't have mine for 14mos if your doctor isn't worried I wouldn't worry either.

Everyone's different. I am exclusively breastfeeding too, my little girl is 5 months old and i got my first AF 2 weeks ago. Count yourself lucky you haven't got it yet, my first one was hell, i turned into a psycho my hormones were all over the place! All the best. xx

This happened to me after my son was born. I stopped nursing him completely and it still took me two more months for the Return :). I think it is different for everyone. YOu may want to call your doctor if it is starting to worry you.
