My 7 week old is vomiting more than usual and it is flying out of her mouth sometimes like the exorsist (projectile vomiting) she used to vomit only once a day and now for the past couple of days she has been vomiting 4 or 5 times a day. is this normal or should i take her to the doctor? she also had diorrhia yesterday but not today. thank you.

totallykatalicious - 97 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) That doesn't sound normal, take to her pediatrician or your OB/doc.

oxxemmaxxo - 100 days ago hi guys thank you for all your comments, apparently it is normal!! i later found out that the cause for the vomiting was my baby trying to get her wind up and having trouble doing so. so i have since put her on infacol and the vomiting has stopped and my baby is doing great. thanks again

mommy-of-3 - 102 days ago Rating: 5 (1 votes) Wow that doesn't sound normal, I would really call the doctor about it if I were you. You don't want to miss anything that could be of concern at least if you call you will know if something could be wrong.

Baby3OnWay - 102 days ago Rating: 5 (1 votes) My daughter was like this and I took her to the Dr and he told me she was fine and that it could just be a gas bubble, even though I was burping her! it was scary because it seemed like her entire bottle AND it was always very warm. just try burping her a little more then usual here and there and see if that helps. If not I would call your Dr to rule out any gastreo problems. best of luck!

mzmommy2b - 104 days ago Rating: 5 (1 votes) I would definetly take her to the Dr or atleast call and consult her PED. The vomiting and diarrhea can cause dehydration which is extremely dangerous for anyone especially young babies. Also, check her temperature and make sure she is not running a fever, if not then she is probably fine, but vomiting that much I believe is definetly a sign that something needs to change. Good luck!

mattie4 - 104 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) your baby could have what is known as Gerd (baby reflux) all three of mine had it. If you are breastfeeding you can do something as simple as changing your diet, but if that doesnt help the dr may prescribe meds (zantac, prevacid) my babies have used both of these. Also try proping your baby up just after feeding, you can use a boppy, bouncer chair, or swing...all work great! the swing was a life saver for me. You may also want to look into putting your baby's crib at an incline, they even have wedges that you can put under the crib mattress. Anyhow talk to your ped. and let him/her know what is going on. It is definetly something to look into. :) good luck, and btw if it is reflux, it does get better, babies do grow out of it.

Carmione - 104 days ago Rating: 5 (1 votes) When my son had this issue, I cut back on my garlic, onion and spicy food intake as this all makes it's way to your breast milk. You never know what the culprit it jumps up and bites you. Keep a little journal and note what you eat and when baby getting tummy troubles, that may help narrow it down so you and your dr can figure out what the next step is to helping baby keep from having issues in the future.

JennSever - 105 days ago Rating: 5 (1 votes) i noticed than when i ate foods that were known allergens my children vomited more and were terribly fussy. i went w/o dairy, wheat, corn or sugar. sounds extreme but i had very healthy, well adjusted children. try and stick with meats and fruits/veggies

kater - 105 days ago Rating: 5 (1 votes) be sure to check that baby has plenty of wet nappies, as vomiting this much can cause dehydration. i agree with the other posts, it does sound like acid reflux, if you breastfeed, try switching to a low allergy diet, if you are feeding formula, try soy formula or one of the low-allergy types. i would defiantly bring this up with your gp

2nd1ontheway - 105 days ago Rating: 5 (1 votes) Your baby could have acid reflux. My son had it and we had to put him on prescription strength Prevacid until he was about 10 months old. It helped with the spitting up greatly.

ttasha - 105 days ago Rating: 5 (1 votes) My son is only 10 weeks old and has been doing that aswell every time i feed him hes constantly vomitting and then he starts to cry for more food so i give it to him then he goes to sleep. But the vomitting isnt vigorous but they do say if you are in doubt its best to check it out

LMO - 105 days ago Rating: 5 (1 votes) i would take her to the doctor because she could have acid reflex or maybe allergic to milk.

Laura Ward - 105 days ago Rating: 5 (2 votes) She could have GERD (acid reflux) or she may be allergic to the formula, if she is formula fed. If she is formula fed, I would switch her formula to a lactose intolerant type or soy based formula. If you are breastfeeding, you should cut out all milk prodcuts. This includes milk, cheese, ice cream and anything that has milk in it. I would definitely call the pediatrician and schedule an appointment for them to check her out. You dont want her to get dehydrated or lose weight. There are other more serious problems that could be present and she would need to be seen by the pediatrician.

michaela - 105 days ago Rating: 4.5 (2 votes) sounds like your little girl has reflux, my daughter was really bad with it from about 6 weeks on, i saw my dr who started her on infant gaviscon sachets which helped. i gave up on bibs and muslin and just carried towels everywhere. Are you breast or formula feeding. If you are giving her formula then you can normally give her a heavier milk or get some thickener to put in it, but i'm afraid other than medicine there'snot much else you can do if you are feeding her yourself. Don't worry too much aslong as she is still gaining weight. You will probably find it settles down over the next few months. My daughter is 5 months now and has improved a lot. I hope this helps, if you need anymore advice about this don't hesitate to give me a shout. All the best. xxxx

kayleighrobo - 105 days ago Rating: 5 (1 votes) hiya try changing the milk if its powdered because my first was like that, but i would defo take her to the docs coz it could be acid reflux or a bug good luck and i hope she gets better xx

pregnantegyptian - 105 days ago Rating: 5 (1 votes) maybe it's acid reflex my nephew used to have it bad and he used to puke out of his nose all of the time right along with his mouth. Go to her pediatrician and they will probably give her some type of antibiotic. Good Luck.

masha - 105 days ago Rating: 5 (1 votes) sounds like its 1 of 2 things. 1. allergies, or an intolerence to the formula, if shes on formula. 2. stomach flue. u should defenitly take her to the doctors. if its the formula, u can switch it till u find one shell tolerate, like soy. if its the stomach flue, u cant really do much about it, some pedialyte and small feeds of formula or breasmilk frequently, like every 15 min.

oxxemmaxxo - 105 days ago also it is mucousy sick not just milky sick
