It is different for everyone. After my 1st child, my cycles went right back to normal, but I know of many women who have irregular cycles afterwards.

After you get your first real period things should start to go back to being on a regular pattern. This is how things were for me when I had my kids at least but we all know that everyone is different, if you have a concern always ask your doctor.

mine always came back on time all the time.. well with last two... depends on how your were before you had a baby as well. The pill or some form of contraceptive may help you stay regular though... good luck!

sometimes if you nurse you don't have a period till you stop nursing. Other times you get it right away it all depends on your body. My periods became very irregular skipping a month every 3 months. But both my sister in laws were regular one was in birth control though after the was done nursing

It can take up to several months for your cycle to return to what you remember as being normal. I wouldn't be too concerned about it, but just keep a little monthly journal to remind you of how your cycle varies and bring it up to your Dr. should any other patterns or lack there of come up.

Well with me, once it started again it was regular. But Some people are irregular. Either is normal at this point.

I never got mine back to the same pattern after my daughter, and when the D&C for my twins, the pattern changed again!! SO I think and believe that there is a change in our periods..
I am wondering if mine will change again.. I know that breastfeeding have a effect on our cycles, so lets me see and I can always let you know, I am do any time! I also say to go to this site, http://www.americanbaby.com for they have lots of information on these topics also!! I can say if the doctor does not take out my utuers at birth, for i have a heart condition!! Just try a couple more weeks and see, if you do not like it, maybe you should call and see your doctor!!

Well, depending on if you are breastfeeding or not and what kind of birth control you may be using. After the birth of my son I went back to using Depo and of course my periods were next to never but with my daughter I bleed for 3 weeks before resuming my normal schedule again.

My periods came back very light and only last a couple of days, when before they would be heavy and cramps would be severe and it would last like 4-6 days. I think its different for everyone.

It will be different for everyone. Many women go back to a regular cycle that they count on like clock work. Others notice that it becomes irregular and some may have a period one month and not the next. Your hormones will be getting back to normal and this could take a while. Also, if you are breastfeeding, your period can be irregular. Best wishes with your new baby!!
