i just realized..at my last doc appt, my midwife never measured my uterus or anything...hmm..should i be concerned about this and let them know?? or do you think it was normal that she just did the heartbeat??? some advice would be great!! =)

wildberry - 100 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) no it's not ok for theme to forget to measure you that is one way that they make sure that your baby is growing at the right rate

jah-baby - 102 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) my doctor does the same things sometimes..its weird becuz my doc never really informs me about certain things too.i think u should ask them and let the doc know if u have any concerns about something not being done.thats what im about to do cuz i dont know as much about whats going on with the babys weight or bpm as much as other moms on here do

mommy-of-3 - 102 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) They haven't done it at every appointment for me either. I don't think there is a set standard that they have to get a measurement everytime, I think they just check it every so many weeks to see where things are at and all. If you wanted to know your measurements though I'm sure if you asked the midwife at your appointment they would be happy to do it for you. :)

Darianna - 103 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I would just call and flat out ask!! I would say you kinda left out my uturs measerment and I wonder if you need it or not, cause if so I could swing by for you to get it for my records!! That way the doctor is not hurt or feeling silly!!

Carmione - 103 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I was thinking this very same thing last time I went into to my regular OB. It's not always done each and every visit. Usually palpatation is enough- actually I'm not even sure I remember them taking a single measurement with the tape so far... curious-

mommy2be2122 - 103 days ago THANKYOU EVERYONE FOR ALL OF YOUR HELP!! THAT WAS REALYL SWEET!

LMO - 103 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) it is normal that they dont check it everytime.

goonieMomma - 103 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I'm at 23 wks and I haven't had a fundal height measurement YET. Wouldn't worry about it. When lying on your back she should have a pretty good idea of where it is and that it's at the height it should be. Have fun!

ttasha - 103 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) erm yh its nothing to worry about realli u will be fine its only a measurment

2ndxmommy!! - 104 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) yeah dont be worried they just messured me when I was 20 weeks soo dont worry ok!! they will do it with in time!

captshelley - 104 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Measure it yourself and see what you get.

vikki - 104 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) They don't always messure particularly if the heart beat is strong and everything else is looking good! :-)

mzmommy2b - 104 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Dont worry too much about it. My OBGYN never measured my uterus with a tape measure for the first 30 weeks. He would just feel with his fingers and measure by them, and she may be doing that as well, you might not notice it. Once you hit around 30 weeks they will check with the tape measure to make sure that you are not measuring more then 2 weeks smaller or larger then you should ( you should measure your weeks in inches, such as 31 weeks would be 31 inches). Hope this helps!

michaela - 104 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) At this stage it doesn't really matter, as long as the heartbeat was ok, here in the uk you only get 3 ultrasounds throughout the pregnancy unless you have complications and will rarely see a dr, it is more midwife-led over here and they will just feel your tummy and do heartbeat, although at this stage there is very little to feel as the baby is quite small, mention it at your next appointment if you are worried but i dont think they have neglected you. Hope this helps.

JennSever - 104 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) uumm - if you are really concerned i would stop by and have her measure. it is standard to be measured at every visit. don't let this keep bothering you though, if the heartbeat was nice and strong maybe you could just wait until your next visit. but always ALWAYS go with your gut instinct.

mommy to boys - 104 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I get an ultrasound at every visit and my dr never measures my uterus, but the baby does get measured. When I visited a dr that did not do ultrasounds at every visit, he would measure me almost everytime. I would ask at your next appointment how often they will measure your uterus.

2xmom - 104 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) My doc measured my uterus at every appointment. It was important to see if I was measuring correctly for DD. Also it is a method for checking on baby's growth as well as fluid levels around baby. It helps to map out a trail of growth and change to use as reference in your pregnancy. IMO it's pretty important because if something would go wrong, it's one method of early detection. Maybe call your doc and ask.

Cindie - 104 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) It's normal, My dr' didn't measure me at my appointment before last either. He just checked the hearbeat too. And This last appointment I had my ultrasound. it was all fine.

christen - 104 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I WOULD ASK WHY...JUST IN CASE SHE FORGOT...NO QUESTION IS STUPID UNLESS YOU DONT ASK AND ITS ALWAYS BETTER TO ASK SO YOU DONT WORRY

mattie4 - 104 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i didnt really get measured until closer to 20 wks, until then it was just checking the heartbeat, weight, blood pressure, and urine. If you are worried about it make sure to say something at your next appt :). if she heard the heartbeat and everything sounded good i wouldnt worry too much :)
