i was wondering if sunbathing without getting overheating is ok..

jah-baby - 102 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) it should be. just be very careful though..always have a liquid with u cuz u can get overheated in under 3 seconds

candace3 - 104 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I would think it would be ok. Stay hydrated and use sunblock....like everyone else said.

mzmommy2b - 104 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I would say NO! You do not want to take the chance of overheating your baby or yourself. It can cause major complications. Being out in the sun would be ok of course, but actually sunbathing doesnt sound like a good idea in my opinion

kaylasmommy - 104 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) sunbathing would be perfectly fine as long as you dont overheat just make sure you drink lots of water to keep your baby and you safe good luck xoxox

mommy to boys - 104 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I am out at the lake all summer, I just need a little shade to retreat to every so often and lots of water. All is well, just don't over do it.

nich-vegas-mommy2be - 104 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) It should be fine, like you said, without getting overheated. Use sunscreen though, because No. 1 you will burn much easier, and No. 2 you wouldn't tan evenly anyway and then you would be stuck with patches of tan and non-tanned skin! Stay hydrated, take some time in the shade every so often, and relax :)

christen - 104 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i would think it would be fine just dont get to hot and drink plenty of water

LMO - 104 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i have heard that it is ok but just dont get to hot.

goonieMomma - 104 days ago Rating: 1 (1 votes) Make sure you don't get overheated. This doesn't just mean drinking water. You can sunbathe in the shade, too! You will increase your VitD levels, which can help with yours/baby's bone mineralization (as long as you're getting enough calcium and phosphorous too). Also note that your linea nigra will darken disproportionately and may "stain" longer than if you hadn't gotten a tan. Other than that, practice normal sun-health advisories!

captshelley - 105 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I've read that sunbathing is ok. Even good for the babies eye development.

septmommie - 105 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I think as long as you were sunscreen. Our skin reacts differently while pregnant. And be sure to puts lots of sunscreen on your belly! I plan on getting some rays this weekend, this pasty white look does nothing for me!

mattie4 - 105 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) keep a bottle of water near by and a good sunscreen. If you start to feel too hot, i would call it quits :). enjoy the sun, i wish i could.

Carmione - 105 days ago Rating: 5 (1 votes) sunbathing in moderation is safe- just as long as you're not out broiling in the sun. It's much easier for a pregnant woman to become dehydrated and suffer from heat exertion. It's better to get out of the sunlight before you start to feel too warm. If you can't find a happy medium with it, I would suggest keeping the subathing to a minimum until after pregnancy. Plus you may find areas of your skin where pigmentation is darker will take longer to fade after you deliver. You may have clusters of freckle appear too.

Brandi J. - 105 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Yes this is absolutely ok, as long as you stay hydrated! Just make sure to wear a high SPF sunscreen to protect your skin. And it can cause the "mask of pregnancy", which is a blotchiness of your complection, b/c your skins pigmentation is altered during pregnancy. This "mask of pregnancy" may or may not go away after delivering your baby. You can google it to learn more about it. Congrats to you!

holly28 - 105 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) The vitamins that we get from the sun are actually really good for you. Just remember to wear your sun screen, stay dehydrated, don't get overheated and not overdo it. :-)

vikki - 105 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Sunbathing is safe if you take the useual precausion against sunburing etc. Just drink lots of water and avoid the hottest part of the day. :-)

michaela - 105 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I went to the Maldives when I was 20 weeks pregnant, sunbathing is fine, just make sure you wear plenty of suncream and keep really well hydrated. Your skin can be extra sensitive and if you are going somewhere really hot you can get some fluid retention. Everything in moderation should be fine, just be sensible and rest in the shade during when the sun is at its strongest. Sunbeds are not advised during pregnancy.

Laura Ward - 105 days ago Rating: 2 (1 votes) Yes, sunathing is fine during pregnancy--IN MODERATION. You don't want to go out there and lay all day..even if you are not overheating. Just remember that a tan is our bodies way of protecting against the harmful UV rays, so make sure use sunscreen with a medium-high SPF. You can still get a tan and protect your skin from the rays. Because of the extra hormones in your body during pregnancy, you may notice varying pigmentation on your skin and the sun could make it worse.

jomama03 - 105 days ago Rating: 2 (1 votes) I agree the sun is good for you but you have to remember your skin is stretching and if you are getting stretch marks the sun can possibly make them stand out more when your skin goes back to normal after birth. So if you do sun bathe make sure you use sun screen.

Mommyof2boys - 105 days ago Rating: 3 (1 votes) Yes, the sun is good for you but don't be in it for long period of time, our bodies need the vitamins and nutriants from the sun. Just make sure your staying hydrated with plenty of water, and becareful not to burn our skin is more sensitive when we're pregnant.
