I have always read that it is ok to breastfeed! You may have a lower milk supply than before, but I don't think there is any reason for you not being able to nurse your baby!

It's fine. I breastfeed my daughter for four months with mine. I also used the pump. You'll just experience heavy boobs due to the extra weight LOL. I have mine behind the muscle so they still looked good when I lose weight. Hope that helps.

I'm not 100% sure about this but I do remember hearing it is still possible to breastfeed. The way they insert the implant doesn't block the milk glands and still allows it to act normal. Have you talked to your doctor about this? If not, I would def bring it up at the next visit!

I can't say for sure but I do remember when Pamela Anderson had her first baby and she was excited that she was able to breastfeed with her implants. Guess that means it's probably okay but you should be able to ask a lactation nurse about it.

Okay:
I have to be honest, there is no information, that proves if implants are bad or if silicon or saline can be passed in breast milk!!
Here is the best link to help: http://www.breastfeeding.com
There is a great amount of information, and you should give it a try just try and see no harm in that! Also you can go to a local La Leche League Members! TO get more information!!

the women i know didnt have any problems but they had the kind where the incision was under the armpit, so i would just check with your dr or midwife, i dont think there will be any issues though. good luck :)

Discuss with your Dr first. There could be some scarring around the the nipple that would have closed off some milk ducts if you indeed had that kind of incision. My step mother has implants and breast fed my two brothers without incident. Best of luck to you!

It's likely that you can, but it depends on the kind of surgery you had. Incisions made under the fold of the breast or through the armpit shouldn't cause any trouble. The most popular method, making a "smile" incision around the areola, puts you at greater risk for problems. If the nerves around the areola were not cut or damaged during surgery, you may be able to nurse fully or partially. Nerves are vital to breastfeeding because they trigger the brain to release prolactin and oxytocin, two hormones that affect milk production. Your chances of breastfeeding also improve if your milk duct system is intact.

It depends where the implants were put in your breast. Sometimes women see decreased flow, but are able to support young babies hunger. There may also be some discomfort, esp. if you engorge. Talk to your doc about it. You may also want to call your surgeon back and stop by for a consult. I'm sure s/he would be thrilled to tout a breastfeeding mama among their prior patients!
