im breast feeding my 10 week old son and i changed him last night and his poo was green is there anything to be worried about

Brandi J. - 176 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) It could be something you ate, or it could be that he is getting too much foremilk and not enough hindmilk. I have the problem w/ producing too much milk, so it is very hard for my babies to get enough hindmilk when my milk is just coming in, before my body adjusts to the demands of my baby. So try making sure your little one completely empties your first breast before moving on to the 2nd. Or you could be like me and only have to nurse on one side at each feeding.

wildberry - 180 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) more than likely it's something you ate my lil guy has green poo if i eat something like blueberries

mamahannah - 180 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Your little boy is just fine :]

Mrs.M.H. - 180 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) There is nothing to worry about at all! It could mean something you ate just turned out to make it that color. My daughters poop would change when she was taking good start formula and she wasn't any worse for wear. She was fine either why. Sometimes what you eat can cause bad gas for baby. I found out the hard way what not to eat for baby sake. If he's not unhappy I wouldn't worry. Like gas it was probly something you ate that changed the color.

Christina1984 - 180 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) thats normal. my daughter seemed to poop the colors of the rainbow and still does at 3

LMO - 180 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) that is normal

kater - 181 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) you haven't mentioned if baby is acting differently-fussing or crying more, does baby seem happy? if there isnt anything else wrong, i would wait until the next doctors appointment, as what you eat does affect their poop. but if you see a change in behavior, or have less wet nappies, anything out of the ordinary, i would make an appointment with the doc

jah-baby - 181 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i actually hearrd it was normal to have green poo with breastfeeding

mommy-of-3 - 182 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I have heard of this happening to other people, it can actually range from many different colors. If you are concerned however the best thing you could do is call the doctor just to make sure.

vikki - 182 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Greeb is common for formular feed babies, so I would be concerned. However, have you eaten anything out of the ordinary the night/day before feeding and has the colour gone back to normal? If it has then it probably something that YOU ate:-)But give your Doc' or community baby nurse a buz, that's what their there for:-) all the best.

Mommyof2boys - 182 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I breastfed my son and his poop in the first few months were anywhere from green, yellow, brown & tan. Its breastfed babies who have the gooky looking poo. I wouldn't worry about it, also it can be from what you ate, anything green? Anyway good luck and unless its mucus looking or have blood in it and its more than his usual amount each day like bad diarreah then DONT WORRY.

Darianna - 182 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Oh no, I would say to call his peditrition, and let them know, try your self, drinking gator aid and pedilite, to say hydrated.. Also did you eat any thing like cabbage or any other greens?? Just make a list of what you had to eat, for the past few days and be detailed for it could be a reaction to something you ate!! If it was bright green worry more, if it was light greenish yellow? Then you should be alright!! Try this site also: http://www.breastfeeding.com It is loaded with breastfeeding moms only!!

JennSever - 182 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) if it's a one time thing - don't worry about it. if it persists call his ped.

michaela - 182 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I'm breastfeeding and my little girls poo ranges from pale yellow to orange and green, like others have said as long as he is going don't worry too much. If he seems to be going a lot more than normal i would ensure he gets plenty of fluids and take a sample to your dr to check he hasn't caught a bug.

mattie4 - 182 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) only time you need to worry is if your child spits up green, then thats bile and means there is a blockage. Other than that dont worry at all. :) this is coming from a mommy whose baby was diagnosised with malrotation of the small bowels and was educated by all the gastros out there on what to look for :). If you continue to be worried, i would just give the nurse a call (many doctor's offices have nurse lines) and see what they have to say. :)

Baby3OnWay - 182 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) My son is 5 months old now and he is pooing green. most say its to much iron, or lack there of but my Dr told me its nothing to worry about as long as he was going! Your find, just mention it when you take him in for his next appointment. I am not breastfeeding him but I did my daughter before him and it was the same with her! not to worry to much!

mommy-at-home - 182 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I wouldn't worry. It was probably something you ate. Did you eat something in the last couple of days that you had not eaten in a while? It should return to it's normal yellowy color soon. You'll be surprised how many different colors poo can be! My oldest child was constantly wanting to see her baby sister's poo diapers so she could check out the color and consistency! (Gross, I know!)

kayla-love - 182 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Hi, I my baby also had green poo from breastfeeding and it was from the salad I ate. I had had a mixed salad with toms, cucumber the works and my doctor said it would of been that. She had green poo for about two days and it was a little thicker as well. When I eat bananas as well she has like stringy bits in her poo. Kayla x

candace3 - 182 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) It is usually yellow, with a breastfeed baby...if it if just one time I probably wouldn't worry about it. If it is continuous, I might call the nurse just to ask.
