why most pregnant woman had gingivitis?

totallykatalicious - 112 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) It's the blood flow

brandi j. - 114 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Your gums are bleeding b/c of increase in blood flow to your body to accomodate your growing baby, however, it most likely is not gingivitis. Have you been told you have gingivitis, b/c if so, you need to have it treated, it can cause harm to you and your child. Good luck to you!

jah-baby - 115 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) becaus of blood flow..i also have it..it sucks

prittigrl01 - 115 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Um, I think your mistaking it for increase in blood flow. When your pregnant you have a BIG increase in blood flow. One of the side effects is your gums bleeding when you brush your teeth. It's probubly not gingivitis. Just your increase in blood flow. Read up on it. I read this in a pregnancy magazine as well as in the book what to expect when expecting.

Debra - 115 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) LMO is correct. Pay attention to your teeth. WHen baby is developing during the last tri, they are also taking nutrients from your body- including calcium. Calcium is lost from your enamel, making you prone to cavities. I had 4 cavities at my last dental visit. I'm 30 and i have never had a cavity before.

ttasha - 115 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) its your hormones i suppose but i didnyt suffer with this

LMO - 115 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) This is because basic hormones vital to the continuation of pregnancy are produced in large quantities during the gestation period. This hormonal increase exaggerates the way the gum tissues react to the bacteria in plaque, resulting in an increased likelihood that a pregnant women will develop gum disease if her daily plaque control is not adequate

kayla-love - 116 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) It is because of hormonal changes and there is an increase in the volume of blood. Some women will experience sensitive gums whilst pregnant, due to these hormonal changes which can make your gums bleed whilst brushing them. If is recommened to visit the dentist whilst pregnant as teeth and gums can suffer. Not all women will have gingivitis (i never did) but I did have friends that did.

mattie4 - 116 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) it is important to see your dentist regular while pregnant. A good cleaning is definitely a plus. Make sure you brush and floss everyday. Because of hormonal changes during your pregnancy it often will cause your gums to be more sensitive to plaque which causes gingivitis. So when you brush make sure that you clean well along the gumline. Keep an eye out for bleeding gums.

JennSever - 116 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) brush and floss - you are also more prone to cavities. try to look at pregnancy as a means to take extra care of your teeth. all of your body's nutrients are being distributed to your growing child therefore you take second seat.

jade - 116 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i never did

mommy-of-3 - 116 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Something about the blood vessels expanding to support the added blood flow needed for pregnancy. I have this right now and it is really annoying because everytime I brush my teeth in the morning I have all this blood.

Mommyof2boys - 116 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) They say when you are pregnant your gums will bleed more because your blood volume has tripled. And the baby takes a lot of your nutrients so that could be why, I really have no clue. Keep your teeth brushed and you should stay gingivitis free.
