Ok, a few concerns/questions... Do any of your FORMULA FED babies (mines on soy formula with iron) have loose stools? AND also, do any of your babies less then 1 month old still sound like they`re weezing? My baby sounds stuffy, but I know at the hospital, they said that babies always have extra mucus to work out, but he is 3 weeks old tomorrow and I don`t knowhow long they stay congested sounding?

He may be allergic to his formula. Talk to his pediatrician, and see about maybe trying something different! I hope he is feeling better soon!

I would take him to your pediatrician. They just might have to give him a breathing treatment to help clear his nasal passages, which is completely normal.

Soy might not be going to well for him. I read alot about formulas and soy sometimes makes a baby alergict. Maybe change it? Good Luck mama!

It is true that newborns have a lot of mucus which can make them sound that way. The other possibility is that he might be sick or allergic to something. You might want to have it checked out just to be on the safe side...

I can't answer the formula/stool question- but about the congestion. I can tell you though that many kids have Soy sensitivities and allergies. Make sure that this isn't the cause of the wheezing. My son was congested for about a week or so after birth. He was born by c/s and his congestion would be worse than those babies born with a vaginal delivery. You can try to get a humidifier in your home to help with the stuffiness- and if you think its a cold (draining nose/mucous membranes), then try a decongestant. I ordered one through a website www.mother-earth.ca. Their rosemary respiratory rub has helped to heal several colds so far this winter/spring. If your baby is wheezing hard, and seems to have difficulty breathing AT ALL- is listless and a different colour than pink (grey or blue) bring baby to the emergency department IMMEDIATELY!!
