If you have or have had this what were your symptoms and how did the dr treat it?

brandi j. - 85 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) My sister had this, she was hospitalized over night and given lots of fluids. When she left the hospital she lost 20 lbs!!!!!! No joke! Her BP also came down! Her doctor continued to watch her very closely from that point on.

mattie4 - 85 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i went to the dr and i had gained 10 lbs in one week with no explaination for it. I was swollen and well when they went to check my bloodpressure it was through the roof. First they restricted my diet, i was allowed no salt at all. I was also put on strict bedrest. Then i was put on bedrest where i could only lay on my left side. I had to go in everyday and get a nonstress test and to check my bloodpressure and urine. Eventually after they i had made it to the week where they were sure my baby's lungs were developed (plus a shot of steroids) they went ahead and induced...i was almost 35 weeks. Apparently it was just getting to dangerous for me to stay preggers.

selenia - 85 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i had really bad swelling, it started with my feet then was moving up my legs. my legs felt like heavy weights i was lugging around. my bp was creeping up and i had protein spilled in my urine. i kept telling the center something was up and finally a week before my due date they let me come in again and saw the indents on my legs and my bp was really bad. i was admitted and induced.

christen - 85 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) SWELLING, HIGH BP AND I WOULD GET REALLY TIRED....BEDREST IS WHAT I GOT

nich-vegas-mommy2be - 85 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) My sister had pre-e with her son. The high BP, water retention, swelling, headaches, sudden excessive weight gain. She had it pretty bad, and was put on bed rest at 6 months - laying down all day with her feet elevated. She also could not have any sodium. After giving birth, she lost 40 lbs of water weight right away!

LMO - 85 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) A person with mild preeclampsia may feel perfectly well. Therefore, it is important to attend all prenatal checkups to spot this condition early. The symptoms of severe preeclampsia, which can develop during the last weeks of pregnancy are headaches, blurred vision, intolerance for bright light, nausea and vomiting, and salt and water retention. It may progress to eclampsia, the symptoms of which are convulsions (seizures) and sometimes unconsciousness.

OurBabyBean0508 - 85 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I developed pre-eclampsia at 12 weeks with my first pregnancy. Up until 20 weeks they simply monitored my blood pressure and the protein in my urine at each appointment. At 20 weeks I had a significant rise in bp and the protein in my urine went from trace to +1 so I was put on bedrest for the remainder of the pregnancy. Once I hit 36 weeks I was allowed to do "light duty" meaning that I could get up and walk around my house, go to the store, etc. I carried my son to 41 1/2 weeks and had no long term side effects from the pre-eclampsia. Most importantly you have to listen to your doctors. If they tell you to take it easy, do it. If they tell you they want you on total bedrest where you can only get up to pee, DO IT. Good luck and congrats!
