i have a question if there is a very faint line on a pregnancy test were the positive is to be does that mean that it is positive ????????????????????

jojor - 128 days ago Rating: 5 (1 votes) i think so ive always believed that you can have a false negative which is due to testing to soon and the hcg level isnt strong enough but you cant have a faulse positive as the hcg doesnt exsist unless you are infact pregnant, in my experience the faint line was due to me being over eager to test even tho they tell you test one week late= 5 wks preg i must have tested as soon as i conceived acording to my dates....?

kater - 128 days ago Rating: 5 (2 votes) you haven't mentioned when you saw the line. if it was straight away, then yes, the test has reacted to the levels of hcg in your body and you are pregnant! if it was hours later, it is possible that it was an evaporation line, and this would mean that the test is negative. re test in a day or so if you are still uncertain, GOOD LUCK!!!

mome2bee - 128 days ago Rating: 3 (1 votes) Not to dissappoint you but about a year ago I took like 5 tests ( First response ) and they all came back positive with the faint lines when in fact I was not pregnant. Everyone told me then you were but you lost it but in fact I was NOT. There is such thing as false positive so I would retest in the morning and see what your body is telling you. If you are pregnant you will know!!!! GOOD LUCK!!!!!

Laura Ward - 128 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Sounds like a congratulations is in order! Usually, a line is a line. No matter how faint or dark. However, you can occasionally have a faulty test or it could be an evaporation line if the test was left out to sit for longer than the instructions said. Take another one in a few days (your hcG levels should rise) and do it exactly as the test instructs. Good luck!!

As long as the line shows up in the given amount of testing time, usually 1-10 minutes, then it is a positive! However, if the test said Neg. the first 10 min. then you looked at it later in the day and saw the pos. line, then it is most likely a neg. Good luck to you! And Congrats!

mattie4 - 128 days ago Rating: 5 (1 votes) yes...even if it is faint, that means that there was some hcg detected in the test. If that line showed up during the time it was said to read it...yes. Now if you looked at it a long after the time said to wait, well then it isnt valid. Test again (i would) and give your dr a call. Sounds like a positive to me. :)

nich-vegas-mommy2be - 128 days ago Rating: 4 (1 votes) I have only taken two, and mine were positive immediately...but, I think it depends when you took the test...have you missed a period yet? It could be a very early positive. Also, did you look at the line right away or later? If you look to late I have heard that it could look really faint. Try another test and see what the results are, or go to doc or health dept to get a blood test to check...

Christina1984 - 128 days ago Rating: 5 (1 votes) yep! thats how mine showed up with both pregnancies. its because there is not that much hcg hormone present. most tests tell u if there is a very faint line that it is still positive. in fact so many people get that very faint line. a negative result will cause the test to go blank in 10 minutes. positive will stay for a long time. good luck
