Will sperm help me to dilate more and become more efface. I`m 2cm dilated and only 60% effaced due May15. I want to be 4cm dilated and 90% effaced. Is the solution in my hubby`s pants LOL?

mzmommy2b - 585 days ago Rating: 5 (2 votes) I heard that there is something in sperm that will help soften the cervix, but I don't think that it is a sure thing to onset labor. Nothing is. When your body is ready, thats when it will happen! It's worth a shot though!! It's funny, they say that the same thing that got it there will get it out! =)

I've read up on it and the only thing that it really says that it help soften the cervix. .When I went to my last appt. .that all that they said that I had "soft cervix". .no dialation, no effacement and I think that I had sex a few times in that past week. .now if you have an "o" that might help bring on contractions helping you dilated more

Baby3OnWay - 586 days ago Rating: 5 (1 votes) they say it helps!!! with my first it worked with in a few hours... like I mentioned before in previous questions of yours I was 4cm 100% effeced and it didn't work, mind you the hubby only tried it once after that he was afraid his penis would be chased out by the baby HAHAHAHAHA try anyways, its fun either way!! he he Good Luck

If your baby is not ready to come, then there is nothing that you can do to start labor, but if it is ready, then sex could be just the thing. It actually has worked for me a couple of time, but then the other 2 times it did nothing. I propped my hips up on a pillow afterwards each time. But like I said it only worked for 2 out of 4 of my pregnancies. And what can it hurt, right now is the best time to make love to your hubby, b/c once the baby is here you probably will not feel like it as much. Congratulations to you, you are almost there! :o)

babigirl82 - 586 days ago Rating: 5 (1 votes) OK LOL!!! Some people will tell you that sperm will help with the labor process, that it will help your cervix thin cause of what is in it. Now i was 3cm and my husband and i had sex that morning and that night i ended up in the hospital 5cm dilated and almost 100% effaced. But there are many wives tales that you can use but from what i understand the thing in sperm does help. And it is fun trying.LOL!! But i will tell you also i am 4cm and 70% and i have been this way since Friday i am in pre-term labor though but you can stay at 4cm for awhile. Do not rush it the baby will come when he/she is ready. Good luck.
