mzmommy2b - 99 days ago Rating: 5 (1 votes) Just so you know, Castor Oil will probably make you go #2 while pushing and can also make the baby go #2 in the womb before birth (Meconium). Just be careful!

totallykatalicious - 99 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I've heard that it can hurt the baby to take castor oil and that it really doesn't help at all for inducing.

christen - 100 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i wouldnt try it again knowing you would rather be safe than sorry....dont risk the little one

kater - 100 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i have heard that caster oil causes gastro-intestinal upsets, which can hurt sometimes stimulate contractions, but are not regarded as 'safe' by most doctors and midwives, because the can cause the baby to go into distress. walking worked well for me

mattie4 - 100 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) when i tried castor oil, it didnt work for me. i would go for a nice healthy walk and then get in the sack. :) nipple stimulation is also suppose to be great for getting things started (talking induction here) good luck :)

mommy-of-3 - 100 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I've heard a lot of bad things about using that, I wouldn't try to do it again, your baby will make their entrance when they're ready.

kbushby - 100 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) have you thought of primrose oil??? and walk alot!!!

brandi j. - 100 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I agree with Laura Ward!

Mommyof2boys - 100 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Castor oil can give you the "poos" really bad. My Aunts hubby couldn't even stay in the room because she kept just going and going lol. Since you've lost your mucus plug and 3cm try walking, having sex, eating something spicy or chinese food. All of those are supposed to make your uturus start contracting again. Also my friend was over due and she had eggplant parmasion and had her baby 7hrs later. Something with the eggplant.. Good luck!

kelsul - 100 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i have heard nothing but bad reviews about caster oil. just remember, the baby will get here when it's ready. just stay relaxed and let your body do it's thing. Good Luck

kayleighrobo - 101 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i wouldnt if i was you it can be harmful to your babs get the midwife to do a sweep on you that will certainly help u along i know u feel desperate we all do when where at the end do all the old wives tales but dont use castor oil xx

Laura Ward - 101 days ago Rating: 5 (1 votes) My doctor warned against castor oil because you have an increased chance of your baby having a bowel movement in the womb, which can be aspirated into their lungs at birth. It is called meconium and can be very dangerous to the baby. If you are already 3 cm and your cervix is thin, you are getting close! Try sex--the semen helps the cervix to thin out and the thinning out will encourage you to dilate more. You could also go for a walk. Ask your midwife about potentially stripping your membranes, which will usually only work if you are close to labor anyways. Best wishes! You are so close!

DonnaG - 101 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I tried castor oil with my first baby because my mother-in-law is all for it but since then I've heard a lot of negative things about taking it. I guess if it clears out our bowels, it could have the same effect on your baby and it's not very healthy to have meconium in the amniotic fluid... Don't know if this is true but it did put me off trying it again. All the best : )
