Hi everyone. I had my 12 week scan the other week and at the bottom right hand corner it said 15cm....now apparently my baby should be around 6.5cms.....is the 15cm the size of my womb or the baby? Any help would be grateful. x x

Most likely it is the size of your uterus thus far. You should ask your dr at the time of the ultrasound next time to keep your mind from wandering as I know how annoying that can be!

i agree with all the other comments, they should also have an approximate gestational age written down somewhere, this usually gives a 1-2 week period they say the baby is in developmentally. it can be very confusing, if you have questions your doctor should be able to explain anything you are unsure of during your next visit

No that is the entire size of the area they are viewing, not the baby.

This would not be the size of the baby, it is probably the entire viewing range that that u/s tech was using.

You can go to view how many weeks you are and it will say the size of the baby should be from crown to rump. The 15cm isn't the size of the baby :).

That notation is the size of overall view range that the ultrasound is generating onto the screen. It's not an idicator of womb size or baby. :) I asked that too. I like to know what the numbers mean.
