My son stayed in his for a long time. My youngest is now almost 15 months. She is still in her crib. The longer you can keep them in the crib, the safer they will be. They can't get out of the crib and explore things while you sleep. If she starts climbing out then you should transfer her to toddler bed. There is no magic age.

amandapmills - 78 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i would keep her in her crib until she starts climbing out of it.... thats when i would get a toddler bed....

denee85 - 79 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) My son was about 28 months when I switched him,but he wasn't climbing out of his crib yet..I would say that once she's climbing out you need to switch her or whenever you feel comfortable..Also,as far as them getting out of bed,my son was/still is a handfull..They will go through the 'I don't want to go to bed' stage eventually and it's just something you have to work on. If they get up,just put them back in bed and tell them it's time for bed...Keep it up:)

totallykatalicious - 83 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) My middle child was about 18 months or so, he is 2.4 yrs old now and is sleeping in a toddler bed ... but every child is different ... you could try a routine, like warm bath, use bedtime lotion, and then lay her down, read a story or 2 ... try it for a night and see what happens, good luck!

araya-sunshine - 83 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I put my daughter in a regular bed before she was two and totally regreted it! She would get up before me, be really quiet so I wouldn't wake up, and get into EVERYTHING! Trust me, wait until you get past the terrible twos because there is nothing worse than waking up to a couch and carpet covered in baby powder!

kater - 83 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) my daughter hated being in her crib, so she went into a single bed at around 14 months. as soon as she went into her 'big bed' she started sleeping really well and was just so thrilled to be a big girl! i think you have to play it by ear, if your baby really is attached to their cot, why not wait a while? a friend of mine had one of her baby's in a cot until they were 3 1/2, because he didn't want to leave it, and was the type of child who would not sleep, he would rather play if he was given free reign of the room

klasnaya - 83 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) My daughter is 16 months also and she is gonna sleep in the crib till i have this baby. She doesnt mind her crib and also doesnt mind a bed. She will be almost 21 months when new baby comes.

jojor - 84 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) they say around 18 mnths or sooner if your child can climb out of the cot my son never did his cot was on the lowest setting and he loved it how ever he did fall out of bed even with the safety bar so move her when you feel she is ready trust your instincts, no advice cld be better..

Christina1984 - 84 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) they say u can as early as 15 months. my daughter was about 21 months. she is 3 now. but when i did switch her she was so happy to be in a big girl bed. i let her pick it out at the store. that night she tucked herself into bed she was just so excited. she went to sleep. i had put a gate at the door just in case she wanted to exploring the house. they have extra railing u can buy if u are worried of her falling out. it is a good idea if u are having another to child to make the switch b4 the baby is out of a bassinet. saves money on a crib too. good luck

kbushby - 84 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) my son will be two in june and he is still in his crib.. i would wait until she starts climbing out. cribs are a comort for them. if you put her in a tb then she might start wanting to sleep with you orm being scared. i know mom who put her child in a bed too early and she started sleeping in bed with her mom form being scared of "the big bed" good luck with your decision

mommy-of-3 - 84 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Every situation is different, I believe about 1 1/2 yrs old is when I had my kids in toddler beds but that's what worked for us.

mattie4 - 84 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) depends on you and your daughter as far as when is the right time. my 2 year old still sleeps in his crib, he has never tried to climb out (that will definetly be when we put him in a toddler bed) and he seems to be attached to it. As far as when you put her in the toddler bed, well there is definetly no guarantee that she will stay in it all night. She will definetly test her new found freedom, that just means that you get to be consistant and put her back in her bed. I would also suggest a baby gate at her door so that she cant wander around in the night. Eventually she will get the hang of it and love her new big girl bed. My other two loved theirs right away and it didnt take very long for them to get the hang of it. :) you can always put her in her bed and read a book and establish a bedtime routine. This way she will be able to prepare in her mind that it is now time to go to bed. Anyhow good luck :)

LMO - 84 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i didnt put my daughter in a toddler bed until she was 15 months because i was scared she would roll out of it.

lorijuan1024 - 84 days ago thanks you all for takin the time to leave your comments this is very helpful..i guess she can stay right in the crib since shes still not tryin to climb out =)..thanks again

kathleen - 84 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i had a cot bed 4 my son, he was 15 mths when i took the sides off because he was trying to clime out. i got a side rail to stop him falling out, when i put him to bed ii would read him a story then turn out all the lights and he never got out.

mommy-at-home - 84 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) There is not a certain age that you are 'supposed' to put them in a toddler bed. This is something completely up to you. If she is happy in the crib and not trying to climb out then you can let her keep sleeping in it. My oldest was out before she turned one because I was afraid she'd climb over the top. My youngest was in the crib until after her 2nd birthday.

brandi j. - 84 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) It all depends of what you feel is right for you and your child. If you don't think she is ready, then keep her in the baby bed. There really is not a right or wrong answer here, you do not have to do what makes you and your daughter uncomfortable, just b/c so and so did such and such! I have never had a set time to move my children from baby bed to twin bed (we skip the toddler bed), I just do it when I feel they are ready. For my 3rd child, I bought a side rail, b/c I was afraid that she would fall out of the bed, but this was not something that concerned me w/ the 1st 2 children b/c they could get out of the bed w/ out a problem. So relax, and do what you feel is best for your little girl! God Bless! :o)

kayleighrobo - 84 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) it depends on u and ur child both my children where diffrent ages cameron was 2 tyler was 1 only because tyler loved thomas the tank engine so i bought him the bed i'll see how lilly goes but they will climb in and out of it at first i would get a safety gate on there room door and you'll ne a bit tired at first but they'll get use to it but tyler didnt get out of his atall x

Baby3OnWay - 84 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I waited until my daughter was 18 months old, my crib was a 3in1, so the toddler bed was more like a daybed. I just bought a rail for the one side. To My surprise she never got out of bed for the longest time, she would call for us to go and get her, like she would when she was in a crib. My aunts all said their children did the same until they figured out the freedom. Good luck and Congrats on trying the big move! wish you the best

leahs - 84 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) My 2nd daughter didn't move to a toddler bed until she was almost 2yrs old, but she was verrrrry small for her age. When I switched I put her right into a single bed with a bed rail on the side, I had a couple nights were she would get up and play instead of sleep but it doesn't last, once she stopped napping she went right to bed with no problems. Good luck.
