my skin has been so dry ever since i gave birth. i`ve been breaking out all around my chin... my face has been itching and its spring already! could this be due to the weather or my hormones? what can i do? lotion doesn`t seem to help!

Melanie07 - 91 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Most likely it is hormones. You can try lotion. your body will slowly get back to normal.

lindamc - 94 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) hormones!! I've been using bio-oil and it works well!

Brandi J. - 97 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) It is most likely due to your hormones trying to get back to normal. I suggest using tea tree oil, it has helped me tremendously!

mzmommy2b - 97 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) It is probably a mixture of both, but mainly your hormones are going crazy trying to get back to normal. Also, are you still taking your prenatal vitamins? If you aren't, that can be playing a major roll. Your body got used to the extra vitamin supplements, and when you stop taking them, along with the hormone imbalance, it can do a lot of unwanted things to your body/skin! I would say to use a vaseline based lotion, such as Vaseline Cocoa butter

LMO - 97 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) it could be a little of both, have you ever tried using palmers coco butter it works really good

jessicadarling - 98 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) The same thing has happened to me! My face feels so patchy and dry since I gave birth. I have been using Ponds face cream. It seems to be helping

araya-sunshine - 98 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Oatmeal is good for the skin! There are several lotions made with oatmeal. Also, you need a good THICK lotion. Try cetaphil or aveeno. My neice has skin problems and these work great for her. Make sure to lotion yourself every night before you go to bed and in the morning after your bath.

klasnaya - 98 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Dove body wash deep moisture seemed to work wonders on my itchy skin! Even the palmers cocoa butter for strech marks is realy good for bad itches. You can also try nutrogena cream its also good!

Mommyof2boys - 98 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Try some cetaphil at walmart or get some aveeno for dry and itchy skin those both work well.

jojor - 98 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) have you tries putting some baby oil in the bath you'll have to be carefull getting out and clean the tub but its really good and so gentle it wont irritate after all its good enough for bub why nt mum?

Christina1984 - 98 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) after giving birth ur hormones try and go back to normal. so just like when u get pregnant and ur hormones go crazy and we tend to develope skin problems and all that stuff, same goes for when are hormones are back tracking

mommy-of-3 - 98 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Your skin probably has changed due to decreasing hormone levels. Most pregnant women tend to suffer from oily skin and breakouts while carrying so you may be experiencing the opposite now.

mattie4 - 98 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) could very well be your horemones. I suggest an oatmeal bath. its great for irritated or dry skin and well i am sure after having a baby you could use the little luxury of a quick getaway into the tub :)

wildberry - 98 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) it could be duo to hormoens i would get a nice soap free moisturizing face wash

ttasha - 98 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) ive had that problem aswell but i just use a lot of vaseline on my skin

slnkl - 98 days ago another question: should i use facial soap to wash my face? will this help my breakouts?

BonEsInspired - 98 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I think it is possible that your hormones have depleted since you gave birth and that your skin may be struggling for extra nutrients. Some ideas to help fight dry skin are: -Don't take long, hot baths because this can exacerbate dry skin. Instead try short, lukewarm baths or showers. When you get out of the shower, gently pat dry your skin and then moisturize right away. -Drink lots of water - Increase your body's natural moisture level by staying hydrated throughout the day. -Try showering or bathing every other day instead of daily. This will help your skin maintain the oils that are so essential to great-feeling skin. -When drying off after a bath or shower, apply lotion or body oil while you're skin is still damp. This will help seal in moisture and leave your skin feeling great. -You may be experiencing contact dermatitis. Remember that moisturizers can play an important preventative role by increasing the skin's hydration levels and maintaining and repairing the skin barrier.. Inflamed skin is warmer so more water evaporation takes place therefore more moisturizing is needed. -Dry or sensitive skin, eczema and other factors can result in itchy skin. A traditional way to sooth the itch is to add oatmeal to your bathwater. Hope this helps!
