Is there any good way to tell if I`m leaking animonic fluid? I wear a panty liner all day and night for extra discharge so its kinda hard to tell for me

kayleighrobo - 111 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i had watery discharge and dismissed it at first then i went to my midwife n told her i was measuring small so they did a scan and said i had a tiny tear on my sac and i had been slightly leaking daily they where baffled because normally its a continuos leak stops abit when lay down then starts again or a big gush pls pls pls get it checked out i was going to ignore it and it could of nearly put my baby in danger wish u all the best ps your water can have slight colour in it like a very pale yellow colour or it can smell a bit sweetly nothing like wee though x

mzmommy2b - 112 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Get it checked by your doctor because you could never be too sure. If it is fluid leaking, you need to have it checked right away. A rupture in your sac can get infected really easily, and also low fluid levels are very dangerous for the baby

Some ladies lose it all at once, but others lose it a little at a time, because the babies head could be like a cork to stop the flow. I have heard you might get some indication from color, smell, etc..but the best bet would probably be to get your doctor to check, just in case it really IS fluid!

araya-sunshine - 113 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Pretty much everything Brandi J. said except they don't have to examine you with a speculum. The vagina is a little more acidic than the amnionic fluid so they use a test strip. If the strip doesn't change colors at all then there is no A. fluid in your vagina. If the test strip does change then your worst fears have come true.

Baby3OnWay - 113 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I had a leak in my first pregnancy and they told me to smell it... YUCK another way to tell is the color, and it would be constant. The can check easily with a strip they dip into it... like testing your urine!

Or when you pee you might get a few extra drops like your still peeing. I thought i was actualy peeing cuz i couldnt smell nothing so i just happened to mention that to the doc and when they used a swab it turned black and they checked it and i was leacking so i was induced that same day cuz i have been feeling that for a dew days just didnt know it.

mattie4 - 113 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) with my last pregnancy i thought my water was leaking, they put this strip in my vagina that could detect if it was amniotic fluid or not...it ended up being not...lol so basically i found out i peed on myself. oops. If you aren't cramping with it then i would try not to worry too much. If you start to feel crampy i would go on in. :)

Mommyof2boys - 113 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) It all depends on the color if its clear with a pink or brown tint to it its probably fluid, if its white creamy its discharge, green or yellow can mean a yeast infection.

brandi j. - 113 days ago Rating: 5 (1 votes) Although your membranes can rupture in one big gush, leaving little room for doubt, occasionally it is possible to leak small amounts over a period of days or weeks. It may be difficult to tell if this is stress incontinence (urine) or your waters. One clue is if you leak after sneezing, jumping, moving or laughing, it''s more likely to be urine; if you are constantly wet, it may be your waters. The only way to know is if your doctor or midwife examines you internally using a speculum; amniotic fluid (waters) can sometimes be seen leaking out. A scan to measure amniotic fluid cannot tell for sure, but may help if there is uncertainty.

Christina1984 - 113 days ago Rating: 3 (1 votes) this may sound gross but i was told that amnionic fluid will smell sweet as opposed to other discharge in pregnancy. the advice i would have is to smell it and see if it smells sweet
