Hi everyone, i went in saterday the 12th because i was having contractions all day and they got down to 5 minutes apart. When i got there they checked me and i was still a 1cm and 50 effaced i was a 1 like 3 weeks ago too. So they done a swab test that would tell them if i was going to deliever within the next two weeks well the test came back negative. I was just wondering if anyone has heard of or had this test done? If so is it a for sure thiing?? i am still having contractions off and on and i am having exrtreemmmm pressureeee!! and i am measuring 37 weeks instead on 32 and i am thinking she will be here really soon but who knows, but if anyone could let me know what they thought that would be wonderful and greatly appricated!!! Thanks

kayleighrobo - 111 days ago Rating: 5 (1 votes) i havent had the test done but when i was getting examined ready for my sweep he said i would go anyway in the next couple of days but i still went through with it, and he was right 4 days after i had her but you know your own body more than anyone,if i was you when the pain is getting to you go back to the hospital because you might be in the very early stages with all 3 children i have had a false labour 2 days before i actually went into labour and the pains where the real thing so i think you could actually be dialating a bit more x

Brandi J. - 112 days ago Rating: 5 (1 votes) I have not had this test done, but I suggest you pay attention to what is happening with your body, go when you feel like you need to, and even if it is a false alarm, you will know for sure. The test is not 100% accurate, so you could be one of the few it is wrong for.

jessicadarling - 112 days ago Rating: 5 (1 votes) At 34 weeks I was getting contractions 5 minutes apart for a day. They weren't too strong but strong enough for me to worry. I went in to the hospital and they monitored me and then did the same swab test that you had. They told me the protein wasn't present and that it wasn't likely I would be in labour within the next two weeks. The contractions slowly subsided over the next few days and I didn't deliver until 41 weeks! In my experience the test is accurate.

I was 4cm and 100% effeced for two weeks and then wentinto labor at week 38.. they had to break my water though but again I would say its accurate and the contractions are just real strong braxton hicks getting you more prepared for whats to some in the coming weeks GOOD LUCK

klasnaya - 112 days ago Rating: 5 (1 votes) I had the test dont cuz i was getting alot of contractions and it was a negative and it was correct for me. I didnt go into labor but i had bad contractions. I think they are pretty accurate.

mommy-of-3 - 112 days ago Rating: 2.5 (2 votes) I think that test is just to give them an idea, but there's no way they could possibly know when your baby is going to come. Things can change in a matter of minutes when it comes to having a baby, I would listen to your body and trust your own instincts.

babigirl82 - 112 days ago Rating: 5 (1 votes) Ok i have had the test it is called a fetal fibornatic or a FFN. With my daughter i was at 1cm and 80% for 6weeks and they induced me at 39wks. Now i started having the test with my son who is now 1 at 28 weeks. Mine did not come back positive till i was 32wks and i delivered him at 34 weeks. I am now pregnant with my 3rd and i just had a FFN on the 9th it came back positive and two days later i was life flighter to OSU medical center i am now 5cm and they say since i am not contracting i could stay like this for awhile. Now i have a friend who had the test and it came back negative and she delivered within that week so it is never a for sure thing with this test. Just listen to your body but take it from me you do not want a baby early my son was and now here i am again on hospital bedrest till i deliver.
