Does anyone know if there`s a nausea medication that doesn`t make you drowsy? I`m on Promethazine right now and I can`t seem to keep my eyes open throughout the day, and that`s when the nausea is the worst! I`ve tried everything before going to anti-nausea medication and this medication does work, its just so hard for me to take it during normal daytime hours. Help!

readyandwaitin2008 - 174 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I had a very upset stomach the first 2 1/2 months of my pregnancy. I was always sick and would vomit about 2 or 3 times a day. My dr told me to go to the store and buy over the counter b6 and unisom and take a half tablet of unisom and a whole tablet of b6. It worked great for me and you can take it up to four times a day at 4 hrs between each dose.

Mommyof2boys - 177 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I would ask for finergin, its suppose to be non-drowsy and works great with nausea.

Baby3OnWay - 177 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I went to the Dr and he gave me Diclectin. I have two children at home to care for and I take 2 at night before bed, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Since last week I went down to just the two at night and its doing the trick. Having two kids I couldn't be drownsy in the day AT ALL so see if your Dr can perscribe it to you and see if it works GOOD LUCK...OH and suck on some lemon flavoured candies when you feel a bit sick they tend to work for me!!

mommauv4 - 177 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I don't know of any that don't cause drowsiness. I took diclectin with the same results you are talking about. But you need to know that everyone reacts to medicine diferently so it is sort of trial and error. I suggest talking to your doctor.

leahs - 177 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I always took ginger candy when I felt nauseaus while pregnant, probably won't work as well if it's a big problem for you but for regular nausea it's a nice natural way to help.

blessedmom - 177 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I was prescribed Dicletin by my doctor, its mainly Vitamin B and something else, very helpful , didn't have any side effect. It was very important with my other kids to take care for. I hope everything get better.

nich-vegas-mommy2be - 177 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I had 2 other medicines when I was sick ~ Reglan and Zofran. Reglan made me very tired, but I don't know if that is true for everyone. I didn't experience any kind of side effect from the Zofran.

mommy-of-3 - 177 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I don't know of any personally but I'm sure if you asked your doctor about it they would be able to recommend something a little less drowsy.

michaela - 177 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Ok, to start with promethazine is phenergan! Cyclizine, metoclopramide, ondansetron and prochlorperazine are probably the most commonly used ones that i know of. Prochlorperazine and cyclizine have aa long solid history of use in pregnancy, fetal effects are all but inconsequential, and adverse effects are reasonable. I hope tis helps, i'm a nurse in the uk as these drugs are widely used here, not sure if they are available in US. I hope your morning sickness subsides soon. xx

Brandi J. - 178 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I don't know of any! I had to take Phenergan w/ my 2nd preg. and it knocked me out every time! I was told it is b/c it causes your entire body to relax, therefore putting you to sleep. I would sleep for 4 hours, then wake up sick again. Your med. is probably doing the same thing to you. I hope you feel better soon, morning sickness is the worse! But the end result is soooo worth it!
