Get a presriction for Diflucan. It works the best. It is safe for the baby. You can also use the over the counter creams. I prefer the Diflucan. It is quick and easy. No messy creams. It clears it up completely and quickly. They even have it for the baby if they get thrush which is a yeast infection of the mouth.

Tell her to drink lots of fluids and to be eating some yogurt to try to flush the bad yeast out. If its really bad the doctor will prescribe something for her.

Yogurt does work, eaten and used topically. Yeast infections and thrush are pretty much the same bacteria as well and doctors prescribe medication for thrush for mom and baby while nursing, so I don't think meds for yeast infection would hurt baby either.

I, too, got a yeast infection after having my youngest child. My doc. gave me a 2 pill prescription, unfortuneately it did nothing for me, so I tried an over the counter cream. Bad idea, b/c I was allergic to it, and had a severe reaction to it, and since then I have talked to a number of ladies who were allergic to the creams as well. Acidopholus is very good and natural, also I have been told recently that using cornstarch is very good as well! You can also put this on a baby's diaper rash, if you think it may be yeast! I hope she feels better soon!

I believe you can use the creams but I would have her double check with the doctor on it first. Even if she can't get in right away she should be able to call up to the clinic and speak to a nurse advisor who can help.

definetly eat the yogurt or you can even take acidophiles capsules that you can get from most any herb or healthfood stores. They just need to be kept in the refridgerator to keep it active. My aunt always swore to doing the yogurt in the vagina like Michaela said, i never did it but i have heard it works great.

I normally dip a tampon in fridge cooled natural yoghurt and insert it, change every 4 hours and bath/shower daily.

eating yogurt with acidophiles should help slow the growth of yeast she will still need to treat her infection but this might help i myself am yeast prone and eat two yogurts a day to keep it in check but that must have acidophiles
