I was wondering what a mom should do when she is only 34 weeks, and seeming to have a preemie, and however he is going to be about 6+ lbs and I know all will be fine!! I am happy to be having my SON and I am ready!! I had my daughter at only 34 weeks and was a healthy 5lbs 14oz and she came home when I did!! Anyone?? Would you be worried or would you just let it play out and pray?? Thanks!!

LMO - 78 days ago Rating: 5 (1 votes) dont worry about anything you will be fine and so will the baby

ttasha - 80 days ago Rating: 5 (1 votes) if everything is fine then theres nothing to worry about you just sit there and relax

kathleen - 80 days ago Rating: 5 (1 votes) i really think u should try not to worry and as it can cause stress to the baby.i would pray that he will come out as healthy as your daughter was. good luck and i'll be thinking off u both x

gigimuffin1 - 81 days ago Rating: 5 (1 votes) I had my 1st sob at 28 weeks and he is doing great. He is now 6. At birth he weighed 1 lb 15oz. The thing that helped the most is that they were able to give me 2 rounds of steroids to help his lungs develop before birth. I would check with my dr about that. Good Luck

kbushby - 81 days ago Rating: 5 (1 votes) a month and a half early. honeslty i would be a little worried but you can get a amniosenthesis to check the development of the lungs, and if they arent developed enough then they can give your baby, what i believe is steroids to mature the lungs. they had to discuss this with me because i found out two weeks before i had my son that i had gestational diabetes for who knows how long. and GD can cause underdeveloped lungs. but in the end we jsut let him be and he came out perfectly fine. well good luck and congrats on your soon to be baby...

kater - 81 days ago Rating: 5 (1 votes) pray that your baby will be as healthy and normal as your daughter is! you can bet you will have a LOT of other mums from here praying for you too!!

mattie4 - 81 days ago Rating: 5 (1 votes) hey Darianna, i would try not to worry too much. I had a baby born at that time and he was 6lbs 10 oz. He did great and went home with me just like your daughter did :). Like someone said, prayer doesnt hurt and can be very comforting :). Good luck and when the baby does make his arrival post lots of pics :)

Mommyof2boys - 81 days ago Rating: 4 (1 votes) Being 34 weeks I wouldn't worry, 6lbs is a great weight also. Good luck!

Brandi J. - 81 days ago Rating: 4 (1 votes) Do lots of praying, b/c that can never hurt and it can comfort you! Also, modern technology is great, so I would not worry too much, but I am a worrier, so that would be really hard for me. The only thing is that boys lungs do not develop as quickly as girls, so he may have to have a little help breathing in the beginning. Just pray that he can stay put for a while longer. How exciting that you are going to be holding your little one very soon!

Cindie - 81 days ago Rating: 4 (1 votes) I would just let it play out.

babigirl82 - 81 days ago Rating: 4 (1 votes) My son came at 34weeks and he is healthy. He weighed 6lbs 12oz. He however did have some problems breathing but he and i came home together. Do not worry he will be fine and feel lucky that you made it to 34weeks.

Darianna - 81 days ago Oh I think and know that it will be a preemie for I am already being told that my contractions are at 100+ and lasting a long time!! I also have the doctor trying to bet me to make it past 34 weeks!! Hope that information helps!!

mommy-of-3 - 81 days ago Rating: 4.5 (2 votes) I wouldn't worry too much, 34 weeks is pretty close to full term. Especially if he is going to be over 6 pounds, that is a really good sign.

Baby3OnWay - 81 days ago Rating: 4 (1 votes) 34 weeks is not too bad and if you have had a previous sucess then hope for the best. Things these days are so much more advanced now that you should be ok... good luck and may I ask why you think, know or feel it will be a preemiie
