I think i had implantation bleeding today. And this morning when i woke up i had bumps around the nipple all around it. They are the same color as the areola and are just raised. I had them with my son as well but that was around three months of pregnancy.. any idea what this could be .. and is it too early to be seeing something like this.. Thanks so much!

eastern-Canadian-Lady - 226 days ago Rating: 3 (1 votes) Hi K-R, They are called Montgomery Glands from what I remember in Biology calss. (I love bio!) Some people's glands are always a little swelled but don't hurt or ooze anything. I remember being taught that their purpose was to lubricate the areola to protect them for being to dry. It makes sense they they would swell during pregnancy bc your body knows that the next step would be feeding the baby which causes the nipple to dry out.(It's the bodies defense mechanism.) With other people they may only get swelled with fluctuation in hormones. Could be pregnancy I guess, but I wouldn't worry about it too much. Are you hoping this is the real deal? I would take a test. Good Luck, E-C-L

ttasha - 226 days ago Rating: 4 (1 votes) ive experienced that but they werent troubling me then they disappeared so i dont think its nothing to worry about

kathleen - 227 days ago Rating: 4 (1 votes) the bumps around the nipple area could be a early sign as pregnancy. i read somewhere that they are like a guide 4 a new born baby to fine the nipple to feed a bit like a blind person with a brilo book.

Baby3OnWay - 227 days ago Rating: 3 (1 votes) Those werwe the signs a friend of mine had and I jokingly told her she was prego when she asked what the heck... and she was. It was about 6or8weeks into her pregnancy when they started for her (or at least when she mentioned it to me)

gr8scottswife - 227 days ago Rating: 2 (1 votes) My breasts changed very quickly when I got pregnant, probably around week 5.

mommy-of-3 - 227 days ago Rating: 4.5 (2 votes) It sounds like you could very well be pregnant. If you are having symptoms you might consider taking a test. (Just get one that is meant to be taken early like first response.) If you had a much shorter or lighter period than usual it was more than likely implantaion bleeding. When I had mine it seemed like a regular period only it stopped after 3 days instead of 5 or 6.

brandi j. - 227 days ago Rating: 5 (1 votes) I found this in my pregnancy week by week book under week 5. It says "You may notice changes in your breasts. Tingling or soreness in the breasts or nipples is common. You may also see a darkening of the areola or an elevation of the glands around the nipple."

kbushby - 227 days ago Rating: 2 (1 votes) i have them.. im 17 weeks and mine popped up awhile ago. i wouldnt worry about them. i had them when i was pregnant with my son also...
