The name we have chosen if our baby is a girl is Blakelei, and my b/fs family keeps trying to change our minds saying it is to much of a `boys name`, we are not budging on it, as it is what we like, in fact i LOVE it, but I was just curious if anyone else thought it was to close to being a boys name?

RandiLee - 105 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) nooooooo. i love it. <3

LMO - 107 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) very unique never heard it before

leonie3 - 107 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Its a great name, not one i would choose, but if you like it dont worry what others think

Mommyof2boys - 108 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I love it, its different and unique, today everyone names their child something that is so common when you call out their name 20ppl will turn and look lol. I think its a good name and I would stick with it.

mommytobe29 - 108 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i don't really care for it.. but if you like it go for it

momofboys - 108 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) OHHHHH! I like the selling Blakely better. Cute.

momofboys - 108 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I can't figure how you are pronouncing it (BLAKE LEE?). Something to think about when she goes to school, do you want her to constantly have to correct the teachers? Hey if you just LOVE it who cares about the rest of us.

totallykatalicious - 108 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I personally don't like it, but if you like it, then you shouldn't care what others think. :)

nich-vegas-mommy2be - 108 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) At first glance, the name throws you off a bit, but then I realized, (oh-ok, Blake-ly). I think it's a very cute girls name!

lindamc - 109 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I'm curious how you say it... I love the name blake for a girl. Go with what you love!

kendrab - 109 days ago Rating: 2 (1 votes) i like it, but i am one for unique names. and my b/f and i are having the same issue with the boy name that we have decided on. all that matters is whether or not you two like it! so if that is what you like then put your foot down :)

NumberFive - 109 days ago Rating: 1 (1 votes) I odnt like it personally, but if u love it its all that matters, and how do u pronouce it, i think it is only sonding like a boys name if u shorten it to blake1 who cares whata nyone thinks!

gr8scottswife - 109 days ago Rating: 1 (1 votes) I don't like it personally, but if you love it, go for it.

sarahann - 109 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) If it's the name you love, then use it. Regardless of what anyone else thinks of it. Those close to you who don't like it will get used to it with time as they won't see it just as a name, but as the baby herself. Blakelei will become your baby, it won't just be a name anymore. (Hope what I'm trying to say makes sense to you!) Good luck!

klasnaya - 109 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Actualy sounds pretty to me.

selenia - 109 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) it doesnt matter what others think, as long as you and you b/f like it thats all that matter, i picked the name of my son his name is destyn, alot of people were like why that. i said i want him to be his own person with a name not a billion people have. as long as you guys are happy dont worry what others think :)

MelissaJoanne - 109 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Well technically anything with the suffix "-son" or the prefix "mac" are 'boy's names', but they've been taken over by little girls. Blake is a more masculine name, but with lei on the end, I don't think that anyone would really mistake it for a boy's name.

Carmione - 109 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) You know what...despite my initial thought about the name...I'm thinking that it's really a nice name for a girl. It's strong and feminine in the spelling. I wouldn't change it at all.

kathleen - 109 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i think it sounds a bit boyish but it don't really matter because most name's are unisex these days anyway. if u like it go 4 it don't change it because of other people x

Baby3OnWay - 109 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) BOO to them you pick the name you like, its your child. I have the same prob right now as I want to name my daughter, if it is a girl Jordyn and they all say "why a boys name??" HOW CARES, as long as you and your hubby agree on the name thats all that matters. I like it myself!! there are so many unisex names out there these days, Alex, Jordan, Erin/Aaron... although those are most common but again tell them to shove it! haha take care and stick to the name!!!

luvnthebelly - 109 days ago Its pronounced like Blake-lee, just in case.

captshelley - 109 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Who cares what we think. Don't let anybody change your mind about a name you love. I loved the name Lacy for 10 years and my DH's family told me that was a stripper name and they wouldn't babysit a baby named Lacy so I cried and found a different name. I should have named her want I wanted.

michaela - 109 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) To be honest, ppl will tell you they don't like the names you picked, everyone has an opinion on them, but once your child is born and you have named him/her no-one ever critises it. Call her what you like and don't let anyone elses opinion influence you, she is your daughter. I didn't tell anyone the names we had picked until she was born I think its a lovely name. All the best. xxx

babigirl82 - 109 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) My daughter has what some would call a boys name and i could careless it is what her father and i loved so that is what she was named. If YOU love it then you should use it. But i am also not sure how you would say it, but even with that it would not change my answer to you. Do not let others make you question what you like or love this is your child and your decison. Good luck.

jessicadarling - 109 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I am not too sure how it is pronounces but I think it is cool. There are too many main stream names that every single baby seems to have these days. We just had our daughter and we named her Devyn. We keep being told it is a boys name but if you google it you will see it is a girls name. So many people tried to tell us its a boys name but we didn't want another Abigail, or Addison, Maddison, etc. All the names every other baby seems to have these days. I think Blakelei is cool!

Brandi J. - 109 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I love it as well! I feel that if ppl think Kylie is a girl's name, then Blakelei is no different! Also, don't name your baby to please someone else, b/c honestly you will never satisfy everyone! Congrats on your pregnancy!

2ndxmommy!! - 109 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) personally I think it sounds like a Boy name but it is all up to you and your husband it is yalls child not anyones elses so if you two like it then I say stay with it!! congrats on your girl!

mommy-of-3 - 109 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Hi I honestly have never heard of this name before but I say don't let someone else tell you what to name your baby. If you guys like that name then you should pick it and forget about the opinion of those who really have no say in the matter.
