It's old blood. I had that a few times around 8 weeks. I felt really panicky each time, but it was always just old brown blood. It does stop, and it really is nothing to worry about.

I spotted a small amount at the very beginning and I just heart the heartbeat yesterday! Red or kinda clumpy is a problem or if you can fill a pad, thats when you call the doctor. A little staining of pinkish or Brown is fine. Brown Blood I was told was old blood. Nothing to worry about.

As long as it's not bright red, you should be find, the light brownish spotting is just what they call as OLD blood, it happens in early pregnancy, I had it with all 3 of my boys... and light pink spotting is implantation bleeding... so yeh as long as it's not bright red or passing clots, you'll be fine.

I would go to accident and emergency or call your doctor. I don't want to worry you but you need to get it checked out. Sometimes it happens to people and it's fine but sometimes it can be the start of a miscarriage. Fingers crossed everything will be ok for you

well I think you should never take a chance for anything to happen. I would call my doctor and tell her that I'm going to the hospital to make sure, or for her to check you herself

My cousin and I were actually talking about this today. She also experienced the brown spotting. Her doctor told her the same thing. Don't worry, positive thinking =) best of luck!

This tends to be a common thing with woman, I have never had it, but if you are really that concerned I would head up to the hospital... even if its nothing and you have to go to make sure you aren't stressing about it and to be told something the r has already told you... do it to set your mind at ease. I'm sure you will be fine though. Take it easy and take care

at the end of the day this is your baby so if you feel like something is not right, go see your doc, even if they send you home and say everythings ok, its worth it for your own piece of mind then u can enjoy the rest of your pregnancy.
if your still not comftable with the outcome dont have doubts about a 2nd opinion :)

I have heard that brown means old blood, not new and that's why they tell you not to worry unless it's pink or red. Have you had a pelvic exam or had sex within the last 24 hours or so? I've heard that can cause it. Just remember if you really aren't sure you can always go in and have things checked out.

. When pregnant, the cervix becomes very sensitive. It is very common to have brown discharge after a vaginal sonogram or after intercourse. It is normal to spot for 2-3 days after either one of these take place, It can be normal implantation spotting. A lot of times when that little embryo is burroughing in deeper a little bit of brown spotting will occur.

I dont want to worry you or scare you but with my last pregnancy I had some brownish spotting and I had a m/c. It could also just be nothing. This pregnancy I bled in the beginning and everything is fine. Maybe you should go to the er or call your doc again if it continues.

same thing happened to me, you can check my blog, and some people say this happens around the time you'd expect your period and it has to do with that, but, either way, your doc is right: brown isn't exactly dangerous. red and pink usually calls for immediate attention. keep an eye on it and get rest, but please don't worry too much! (how odd to be on the opposite end of this question!) by the way, i am now 23 weeks.

I spotted all through my first trimester, but just a little, and it went away shortly. Hang in there!

If you doctor thinks its fine, than I'm sure that it is. My best friend had her period every month throughout her ENTIRE pregnancy and still delivered a healthy baby boy.

It most likely is not anything. Spotting in the 1st trimester is normal. But still, if you would feel better about it, make an appointment to see your doctor! It could just be that your cervix was irritated somehow, this can happen after making love, or if you had an internal exam from your doc recently, or sometimes women will spot a little if that is when they normally were going to start their cycle. There are so many things, it really is hard to know why some of the spotting in the 1st trimester takes place. For me, it is implantation bleeding that I see, but this happens between week 3 and 4. Keep watching it, and in the mean time, don't make love, and try to relax as much as possible, over doing it is never a good idea when you are spotting!

Your dr is right, a little spotting is ok, but if it becomes a lot or becomes bright red then you need to go to the hospital. Get lots of rest and try not to stress too much.
