How can you tell the difference between a backache and back labor? I know that back labor will occur right around and above the tail bone but is there anything else?

In back labor, the contractions start in your lower back and spreads up and around to your front.

It will hurt significantly more than regular back pain.

Increase of pain... i had back pain when in labour - backache in pregnancy is sore but you cant mistake it for labour. With contractions your back gets really sore if it happens when your in labour get your partner to rub your back i found this helped a little.

My mom had back labor and she said it hurt like, well a word that isn't very nice to put it gently...From what I've heard if you were having back labor you would definitely know because it is far more severe than any backache you might have.

The term "back labor" is often used to describe labor in which the woman feels the most discomfort in her lower back, just above her tailbone. Often, back labor occurs when the baby is in an awkward position as it enters the birth canal — such as when the baby's head is pressing against the mother's tailbone. But that isn't always the case. During labor and delivery, some women simply feel more tension in their backs than others do.

I had back labor and didn't know that was why I was in such horrible pain!!!! I could only get comfortable sitting on the toilet. Unfortunatly I waited too long and was not able to get an epidural. I ended up having emergency c-section.

back labor is very excruciating pain where it hurts in your legs and cramps up, its the babys head pressing against your spine. You will know if its back labor because women say its very very painful much worse than a back ache and it feels like you've ran 1000 miles.

I had back labour and if you want the full story go ahead and read my birth story. Basically the contraction starts in your back and moves to the front, it is extremely painful. I felt it down into my hip bones and thighs. I also was in so much pain the only way my body knew to deal with it was to throw up.

back labor comes and goes along with contractions but a backache will stay with you and be constant.

kaylasmommy - 25 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes)
back labor will move to the front up from the tailbone. xoxo

wildberry - 25 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes)
yes it will move to the front and more than likely it will be more intense than a back ache
