need advice!!!in my 1st pregnancy as well as this 1 around this time i start getting stuffiness i guess u could say in my left ear. i hear it is common in pregnancy. i can only hear myself inside and my own breathing, i cant tell how loud i am on the outside. it is so annoying. i have tried ear drops and everthing, the only thing that makes my ear pop is turning my head upside down. when i come back up my ear is stuffy again. what causes this and what can i do to stop it? any1 else have this or know what im talking about?

Interesting question.... i havent heard of that before but you learn something new everyday.

It's common in pregnancy. You could try the at home ear cleaning remedy: mix equal parts white vinegar and rubbing alcohol- drop a small amount into affected ear, let it dry out the gunk, then tilt head to the side to let the stuff come back out (have a tissue ready). It works pretty well.

I JUSTTTTT got rid of that!! It lasted for 2 damn weeks! lol. I was like, yelling at people at work, I had to ask people to repeat themselves like 3 times, lol.

I live where we're having a terrible allergy season rightnow and I've already had problems with stuffy nose my whole pregnancy (and with my last pregnancy too) but this time my allergies have made it worse! My left ear keeps getting stuffed up or something and sometimes I hear an echo, but then it gets better..It's really annoying and my sinuses are so clogged..My doctor said I could take Sudafed for my sinuses and that ended up helping my ear..If your ear doesn't get better then I would ask your doctor what they would prefer you to take for it..Good luck

It is very common to have stuffiness during pregnancy. I had it with all 3 of my kids. Your sinus passages swell like every other part of your body. It is just another lovely thing we get to endure while preggers. Talk to your doc about things you can take.

I didn't really have a problem with my ear but I have had nasal stuffiness almost the entire time I've been pregnant. It's not quite so bad now but early on it was awful I couldn't even eat or breathe through my nose.

i havent heard of that maybe you are getting a ear infection

brandi j. - 24 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes)
It could mean that your ear is trying to get infected and that you have fluid on your ear. Mention it to your doctor, it could just be something else that you can thank these "wonderful" hormones for...lol! :o)

I've had that before but its not all of the time. I usualy take a warm shower and blow my nose really good and it seems to make me feel better. good luck!

I know what your talking about. I had that as well for the whole of my pregnancy and also a stuffy nose to which it used to hurt.My nose also used to bleed and I could also hear myself talking like you can. I had a nasel spray and ear drops that used to warm my ears a little.Funny thing is as soon as you have your baby is goes away and you forget about it.

I now what you are talking about and i went in to see the Dr and he said it was fluid BEHIND the ear drum and that it takes time to heal itself, he wathes it though to make sure it doesn't cause an infection though ANNOYING as heck but apparently theres nothing they can do... SUCKS BUM!!

I had this too and it drove me crazy! I thought that I was the only one cause I would complain to my sister (she has 3 kids) and never heard about it. .Don't really know what causes it but I stopped cleaning my ears as much as I used too ( I would clean them everyday) I don't know how often you do , but maybe a little extra ear wax will help
