hi everyone,has any one had to have steriod injections if they went in to early labour as iv had them and now contractions have stopped how will they effect my baby? xx

Steroids are safe for baby, whether taken orally during pregnancy, or injected in labour. They halp to strengthen the lungs

Yea, my sister-in-law had one its use to strengthen the babys lungs and stop contractions

I don't think they would give them to you if they were to harm your baby but I think it will help with the babies development as it will be in there longer and have more time to develope!!!

The steroids are usually used to strengthen the baby's lungs before they are born early. If your contractions have stopped then your baby will be able to continue to grow and develop healthy. I had them and my son was born at 27 weeks, he was on oxygen for almost 2 months. I would hate to think what would have happened if I didn't get the steroids. Today he is a very healthy 14 year old, with no lung issues.

The baby will be fine. I had that with my middle child. He is completely healthy.

A friend of mine had to have this when she went into labor at 7 months along. They stopped her contractions and she ended up having him 3 weeks early, the baby was just fine...
