hi everyone, has any one had to have steriod injections if they went in to early labour as iv had them and now contractions have stopped how will they effect my baby? xx

MelissaJoanne - 84 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Steroids are safe for baby, whether taken orally during pregnancy, or injected in labour. They help to strengthen the lungs

lady26 - 85 days ago Rating: 5 (2 votes) Yea, my sister-in-law had one its use to strengthen the babys lungs and stop contractions. Her baby was born fine

Baby3OnWay - 85 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I don't think they would give them to you if they were to harm your baby but I think it will help with the babies development as it will be in there longer and have more time to develope!!!

niki - 86 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Its to strengthen the babys lungs

babigirl82 - 93 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I had four sets of shots with my son a set at 28 weeks and the next set at 32weeks. he was still pre-term at 34weeks but the shots helped with his lung development. Now they are not always helpful cause my son still had to go into the breathing bag for 8hrs, but he was fine. These shots are meant to help the baby not harm him/her so feel confident in whatever the doctor is doing for you. It is also good that your contractions have stopped but the steriods do not stop your contractions just help with the babies lungs. But good luck and anymore questions please ask.

Mommyof2boys - 94 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) It wont effect the baby in anyway, if anything it will help his lungs develope more in case you do go preterm.

LMO - 94 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) it wont effact the baby

kbushby - 94 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) they wont effect it in a bad way it will just help mature its lungs and thats it.
