so i just kind of had a wierd question...so my husbabd and i just had sex for the first time after having our son. what is the likeliness of me getting pregnant again? im breastfeeding and i have heard that that is a natural birthcontrol, but im just worried cause its only been 5 weeks!

lady26 - 84 days ago Rating: 3 (2 votes) Yea, I heard that too. It's rare to get pregnant while breast feeding but it does happen.

MelissaJoanne - 85 days ago Rating: 5 (1 votes) You can get pregnant. It is possible that you're ovulating already, even if you've not yet had a period. Be careful mama!

mommauv4 - 92 days ago Rating: 3 (1 votes) Anything can happen and does...If you aren't ready for another baby then use some form of protection. Breastfeeding may or may not stop you from ovulating and getting AF the big problem is you don'tknow when it stops working. So you might ovulate and not know it and then wham...anothe baby.

leanie093 - 92 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) take it from me. i was breastfeeding my son & he's only 8 1/2 months & i'm pregnant now with my 2nd child. we're very happy about it but if you DON"T want another baby this soon, i'd advise you to get birth control.

UKMama - 92 days ago Rating: 4 (1 votes) While you are solely breastfeeding you have a powerful natural contraceptive at work! Enjoy ;0)

buttons - 93 days ago Rating: 3 (1 votes) If it is less then 6months since you gave birth and you are completely breastfeeding at night as well then you do have a certain amount of safety it is tought to be 98% effective if you have had no bleeding after 6 weeks since giving birth, but every womans hormones react differantly and you will ovulate before you get your first period and that means you have about 15 -20% chance of getting pregnant before you know are a fertile again.

KarenVG - 93 days ago Rating: 2 (1 votes) you need to take precautions unless you are looking to get pregnant... you CAN still get pregnant while breastfeeding and alot of women still get their cycles back while feeding.

denee85 - 93 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) You can ovulate without ever getting a period,so unless you want to get pregnant you should use some form of birth control..Breastfeeding isn't an absolute birth control although it can delay the return of ovulation, there's just no way to know how long until you actually ovulate..If you are breastfeeding exclusively you probably didn't concieve from having sex this time..But like I said, you'll wanna check with your doctor about what method of birth control is best for you while brestfeeding..until then I'd suggest condoms...Good luck:)

jessicadarling - 93 days ago Rating: 4 (1 votes) breastfeeding doesn't mean you won't ovulate. It is definitely not a means of birth control. I have also heard that you are extremely fertile after having a baby. Just wait it out. Also periods are really irregular after delivering. So even if you don't get a period for the next 4 weeks doesn't mean you are pregnant. Just get a test in a few weeks if you are worried

mommy-of-3 - 93 days ago Rating: 2 (1 votes) Oh boy, breastfeeding is not 100% and I've heard you are quite fertile after having a baby. If you don't want to get pregnant again right away I would get on the pill or some other form of bc. Good luck!

Melanie07 - 93 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) You can very easily get pregnant while nursing. It is not a guaranteed birth control. You can get on the mini pill while nursing.

michaela - 93 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) You shouln't take any risks, breatfeeding is supposed to stop you getting pregnant but i have heard of quite a few ppl getting caught out this way. Speak to yor dr about starting birthcontrol asap. I'm breatfeeding and my dr put me on a progesterone only pill but i didn't like it so i got the mirena coil instead. (neither affect your ability to breastfeed. All the best. xxxx

totallykatalicious - 93 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) It's possible you are fertile at those times

kbushby - 93 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) dont take your chances. use condoms, or get on bc if you can.. i have heard of women who get pregnant while breastfeeding. it happens all the time.

wildberry - 93 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i know that allot of woman use breastfeeding as birth control i have known woman that have gotten pregnant while bf

deborah86 - 93 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Well my mother didn't get prego until she started supplementing her milk with formula. Good luck and be extra carefull nothing besides doing nothing is fool proof!!!! Congrats!!!!!

kathleen - 93 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i would get the morning after pill just to be safe

niki - 93 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) From my own experience im breast feeding and not using contraception - i would like another baby but it took a while to conceive the first one although i have a friend that fell pregnant straight away again it was unexpected for her and she did b/f. I was advised to go on the pil so its not 100% affective. Take care x

Mommyof2boys - 93 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Lots of women think because they are breastfeeding they can't get pregnant, but its not true, you are just as fertile if not more before but now. I had a girlfriend who got pregnant when her child was 8 weeks old and she thought breastfeeding would keep her from getting pregnant, its the same as when you are on your period, it doesn't change anything to keep you from getting pregnant. I would get on BC if you don't want to become pregnant.

njstewy - 93 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) it can delay you period, and you figure no birth control is 100% effective. . i would say that once your probley safe, but i wouldn't do it again

LMO - 93 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) no its not a natural birthcontrol you are very fertile after you have a baby so be careful if you dont want to have another one soon

kayla-love - 93 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) It is not birth control, you can still get pregnant. Be careful if your not looking to have another baby any time soon.

Baby3OnWay - 93 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) NO ITS NOT BIRTH CONTROL!!!!!!! I'm 18weeks prego tomorrow and I have a 5 month old baby here at home form that!! haha

Christina1984 - 93 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i heard the same thing. but then u hear of women who were breastfeeding and got pregnant 6 weeks after giving birth. i personally would be extra careful.
