I had my 20 week ultrasound a few weeks ago and when i went to the doc yesterday she said that the babies head was measuring slightly smaller than the rest of his body, she didn`t seem to concerned and just wants to re meassure again in a few weeks. Anyone have this problem or what could it mean. how did it turn out?? Im freaking out a little

lady26 - 158 days ago Rating: 2.3 (3 votes) Don't worry too much just wait for the second ultra sound

niki - 158 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I think at times the machines can be slightly off if the head was way out of purportion the doctor would have explained things to you. Dont worry.

Baby3OnWay - 159 days ago Rating: 4.5 (2 votes) measurements can be off although that would be noticable. i'm sure if there iws a prob. they will tell you. start asking questions though when they arrise to help with your worries

MelissaJoanne - 159 days ago Rating: 5 (1 votes) If doctor isn't at all concerned, you shouldn't be either. Baby may have had a growth spurt that just wasn't completed yet.

UKMama - 166 days ago Rating: 5 (1 votes) Measuring via ultrasound scan is wide open to human error and variation as the image is vague and the outer walls of the skull are blurred and difficult to determine and the points of measure are not fixed either. Calling you back another time is just allowing for that great window of variation. Remember that although there are many things that can be 'wrong' with a baby or pregnancy, even in high risk cases the odds of having a perfectly healthy baby are ALWAYS in your favour. Always.

captshelley - 167 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Everything on baby grew on track but her legs the entire pregnancy but when she was born she was right on track. I think those measurements are inaccurate.

mommy-of-3 - 167 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I've never heard of this before, is it possible the tech just measured wrong?

gr8scottswife - 167 days ago Rating: 3 (1 votes) Keep eating and being healthy.

totallykatalicious - 167 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Try not to worry, if baby seems otherwise healthy and still growing ... good luck

deborah86 - 167 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I've never had that before but the last thing you should do is worry. ( I know easier said than done.) Congrats and best of luck!!!!

lmo - 167 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) if your doctor wasnt to concrened about it i would either the baby will probably grow into its body by the next appointment

Mommyof2boys - 167 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) It probably will correct it self in the next few weeks before they check it again, sometimes they measure a little too big or too small, I wouldn't be concerned about it if the doctor didn't seem to worry, good luck!
