I live in Ontario, Canada, and just wondering how long after you give birth are you usually in the hospital for?? Like...a vaginal birth? I`m hoping to get out of there as soon as possible :S

lady26 - 68 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I heard anywhere from 1 to 3 days

MelissaJoanne - 69 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) 24 hours - 3 days.

mommauv4 - 73 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I have heard of women going home on the same day for umcomplicated births. But the usual is 48 hrs. If you are planning to breastfeed you may be kept til you have learned to latch baby properly.

jaydsmom - 75 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) It all depends on you. I had my daughter at 530am on a Sunday and they released me Monday at 9am. As long as there are no complications and you have gone to the bathroom, they usually don't keep you there. My daughter was born in Alberta, but I can't see it being much different in Ontario.

blessedmom - 75 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Usually 2-3 days some time more they love to keep first time mom around longer , I am going with a midwife so if there is no problem with baby or me, I should be out with in a few hours.Good Luck!

Mommyof2boys - 75 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Usualy 2 to 3 days for a normal birth and healthy baby.

KarenVG - 75 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) usually 2 days if all went well maybe 3. If you end up with a c-section which is always a possibility it will be about 4-5 days however your Doctor can tell you that... it may vary slightly in each hospital and if they are short of beds which happens they will let you out quick.

RandiLee - 75 days ago From firday to sunday!! omg...that's no fun. I hate hospitals.

Baby3OnWay - 75 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I'm from London ON... HEY THERE hard to find fellow Ontario peeps here HAHA Ok with my first I gave birth at 6:30pm friday and went home at 4pm sunday, with my second I had the baby on thursday at 2pm and was gone by 2:30pm the next day! (both vag first with epiural and second natural) i think it depends on your health and how well you are doing. I know with your second+ they give you 24 hours, but can stay longer if you wish! Bet of Luck

RandiLee - 75 days ago Aww....i was hoping same day!! Lol...no fair! :) Thanks for the comments, ladies! <3

jessicadarling - 75 days ago Rating: 5 (1 votes) For a healthy vaginal birth you are looking at 24 hours or less. I delivered at 4:15 PM and was gone by 11:30 AM

eastern-Canadian-Lady - 75 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) They usually only keep a mom in the hospital here (east coast) for 24 hrs, or until they discharge the baby, unless complications arise. If they know that the baby has to stay longer, they will discharge the mom, even without the baby. They virtually NEVER discharge the baby when the mother is required to stay. I had a v. delivery. Hope this helps, E-C-L

Holly28 - 75 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I am in BC. When I asked they said for a normal delivery its a day or so. My friend is in Seattle and was home that day because her delivery was so smooth.

NumberFive - 75 days ago Rating: 5 (1 votes) Hi I live in candada, ontario..(Oshawa) anyhow i was in for 2 nights 3 days withfirst and now less then 48 hours and ur home! i ahve had 4 and i am on number five, all were normal vaginal deliverys no promblems just early,

mommy-of-3 - 75 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I went home within 24 hrs with both my kids. I'm sure it all depends on how your delivery goes and the condition that you and baby are in...

lmo - 76 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i was in the hospital for 3 days and i had a vaginal birth

christen - 76 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) this sounds crazy but i had a c-section on jan 30 at 8.15 my daughter was born at 8.19 pm i went home the next day at 3.00...normally you stay for 48 hours but they said they were happy with my recovery and i could go home....good luck and congrats

deborah86 - 76 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) With my first child I gave birth 11:43am Sunday (may 22) and went home Monday(May 23) at 1:00pm they said I could either stay until Tues. or leave Mon. I said Mon and she said that they have to keep us 24 hours after delivery. I hope this helps. I intend on doing that with this one as well...it is easier to relax and heal at home I believe!!! Congrats and good luck!!!
