2nd Ultrasound

I had my 20wk ultrasound 4weeks ago they said everthing looked fine and it was a baby girl, however after the ultrasound was finished they scheduled me for another ultrasound next week only 4wks later, with my two other children I only had 1 untrasound. I am so scared something is wrong, although they assured me there wasn`t. Has this ever happened to anyone else before? Thanks

Everything was fine they just wanted some better Pics of my little girls tummy :) RELAX, and feel lucky that you get to see you little one again so soon. You will be surprised about how much she has grown in just 4 weeks, i know i was!!!

Monny3 - 68 days ago I went for the ultrasound yeaterday and I asked why another one so soon she said only because she didnt get good measurements the first time. And that my baby girl is fine and healthy!! Thanks everyone....

MelissaJoanne - 69 days ago Rating: 3 (6 votes) Is it a different doctor or hospital than you used with previous children? Even if not, it's possible that the standard number of ultrasounds that they perform has increased.

niki - 69 days ago Rating: 2.7 (3 votes) With my hospital appointments i was late at getting them and then it seemed like my appointments where very close together, im sure if there was anything to be concerned about they would have explained the situation to you. Try not to panic. Take care x

Brandi J. - 72 days ago Rating: 2.7 (3 votes) I think you should call and find out. This would put your mind at ease. Also, are you using the same doc? Could they have changed their procedure? If you are using someone else, how often do they do u/s? They could be a doc. office that does multiple u/s, I have used both type of docs.

jessicadarling - 74 days ago Rating: 3.2 (6 votes) It could be that they want to confirm measurements. Perhaps the baby was moving too much and they weren't able to complete all the measurements. My daughter moved so much during my ultrasound that it took another 20 minutes or so for her to get the measurements. Perhaps your tech didn't have the extra time to spend.

captshelley - 74 days ago Rating: 2 (1 votes) Maybe that's just their procedure. I only had one ultra sound and it made me mad. I wanted more just to make sure everything was going as planned. They said "no". I'd be thankful your getting another chance to see your baby girl.

mommy-of-3 - 74 days ago Rating: 2.5 (4 votes) They would have told you if something was wrong, if I were you I would just ask the doctor what they're going to be looking at during the next u/s. I think it all comes down to the type of doctor you have, some doctors prefer to do more than one ultrasound, others will do 1 and that's it.

Melanie07 - 75 days ago Rating: 2 (1 votes) Some docs do a lot of ultrasounds. I had several because of my age and medical history. They would have told you if something was wrong. You should call the doc and find out the reason. They will tell you why.

Mommyof2boys - 75 days ago Rating: 3.3 (3 votes) I'm sure they would have told you if something was wrong, they would have had to tell you. I went for my first ultrasound and the doc was concerned with my babies bladdar emptying so he scheduled me for another in 2 weeks to see if he emptied it. Sometimes they like to know how fast the baby is growing. You can call your doc and ask the nurse why the second ultrasound so close to the first one. good luck!
