I am having abdomen cramping off and on w/off and on lower back pain -20min apart. These are not contractions b/c they don`t hurt that bad. Does anyone know what this could be? Is the baby just stretching or is my water about to break?

lady26 - 79 days ago Rating: 5 (4 votes) You're probably having braxton hicks contractions.

MelissaJoanne - 79 days ago Rating: 2.1 (7 votes) Your body is preparing itself for labor. You're probably having braxton hicks contractions.

joyfulnoise - 83 days ago Rating: 3.1 (10 votes) This is just your body getting ready, completely normal.

niki - 83 days ago Rating: 2.9 (10 votes) Contractions can start off not to bad but they will get more and more painful and closer together... if it isnt contractions then possibly braxton hicks.

lmo - 86 days ago Rating: 3.9 (8 votes) it sounds as though you are having braxton hicks contractions

Brandi J. - 87 days ago Rating: 3.8 (9 votes) Sounds like it could be Braxton Hicks, but it could very well be early labor. I didn't know I was in labor w/ my 4th baby b/c the contractions were mild and didn't last very long. When I really knew that I was def. in labor, she was born 50 min later and we almost didn't make it to the hospital!

klasnaya - 88 days ago Rating: 3.9 (7 votes) It actualy might continue to be like this for even a week! It might start to feel like real labor then stop. But if it doesnt i would think its labor. I was cramping all day like that with my first for 2 weeks exactly. Then at 37 weeks i started to leak amnio fluid...so was induced

michaela - 88 days ago Rating: 4.1 (8 votes) Sounds like early labour to me. Mine was a back labour and this sounds just like it. Stay mobile for as long as possible and go to hospital when you can't bear it anymore. Good Luck. xx

gr8scottswife - 88 days ago Rating: 3.5 (4 votes) I would say Braxton - Hicks

Melanie07 - 88 days ago Rating: 3.2 (5 votes) Sounds like back labor to me. Back labor does not feel like regular contractions. I had back labor with my first too and not with my 3rd. The back labor my back was sore the whole time. it hurt really bad at times. With the first, I didn't think I was in labor. I just though she was laying wrong making my back hurt.

Baby3OnWay - 89 days ago Rating: 3.3 (8 votes) I would say strong braxton hicks and that your getting closer to the day! The baby may be face up instead of face down at the moment which is what causes the back labor.. Good Luck

Mommyof2boys - 89 days ago Rating: 4.1 (8 votes) They sound like back labor starts out like that and then the pain gets worse and the time gets closer together. You might be having braxton hicks also but with it hurting in your back and being 20mins apart I would say its back labor. good luck!

mommauv4 - 89 days ago Rating: 4.1 (8 votes) NOt contractions? Hey when contractions start they don't have to hurt they get longer and stronger as they progress. Sounds like contractions to me.

mattie4 - 89 days ago Rating: 2.7 (3 votes) could be braxton hicks, or it could be the beginning of labor. For me, they seem to build and get stronger the further along they went. I would take a bath and get things ready to go in, and give your dr a call.

jessicadarling - 89 days ago Rating: 3.2 (13 votes) It could be the start of labour. I remember thinking at the beginning of my labour "Is this what people complain about, what wooses" but if the cramping gets worse then definitely think about heading to the hospital just to make sure. Then again it is normal to have period like cramps off and on. I had those a few times before I went in to labour as well

mommy-of-3 - 89 days ago Rating: 2.8 (8 votes) If they continue and start coming less than 20 min apart go in!!

Christina1984 - 89 days ago Rating: 4 (8 votes) to me it sounds like u may go into labor very soon.thats pretty much what happened to me before i went into labor. my water didnt break tho. when i went into the hospital with what u r speaking of they told me to go home cause i wasnt in labor. well the about 22 hours later my daughter was born. if u r concerned call ur doc. hope everythings ok
