Who has been bombarded with unwanted, unsolicited pregnancy advice? Also, who has been bombarded with rude or just dumb comments, like `You`re going to be hot during the summer.`

Alot of people just say the first thing that comes into there head - i dont think they mean any harm in what they say i guess its just acknowledging the fact that you are pregnant.

I think the hot in summer comment is the number one dumb comment that I've gotten as well, in addition to "You're going to get much bigger", or even "Wow your boobs are huge!" (not so much advice as a stating of the obvious)

It seems like everyone is always asking stupid questions and giving unsolicited advice. I just tried to ignore them. I will defintely try not to do that to anyone else after being on the receiving end!

Oh yeah.....hate it....makes me want to smack some people in the face!! lol...
I especially love the "OMG, you're huge!" one.........like............nice......thanks....like i don;t already cry myself to sleep about that every night, haha.
ANd a few people have actually asked "So...how does it feel, being pregnant?" HAHA......WHAT KIND OF A QUESTION IS THAT??
My mother is the worst for it, too.......i mean...i know she obviously has experience...but it's MY turn to be the mommy.
I'm not completely retarded....obviously I have read up on everything and anything to do with pregnancy and babies....just like we all have.

This made me laugh. It's amazing how confident people get around you when they see you're pregnant. This time though, with number 5, most people feel unable to muscle in, thinking I'll know it all already. Where it bugged me before, I actually miss it this time. Now, there's an irony!

I also had unsolicited pregnancy advice. It drove me crazy and it gets worse once youīve had the baby.I always remember my MIL saying "I donīt think you should buy a changing table, as the baby might fall off" like "hello" will I walk away and leave the baby on the changing table. The best is babies donīt move for weeks so they wonīt fall off and when they do theres is no way you would leave them on the table. Also hate when people say "is your baby warm enough" my baby is wearing socks etc so have no idea why people say this. I find its mainly the older generation that like to pass comments.

My favorites are the "will eating that hurt the baby?" I always answer with a hearted "YES" that's the point! It shocks them and typically people leave me alone because I'm rude! Flipping the table is fun!

My 'favorite' lately has been "when are you due?" and I tell them, and they are like, "oh! Well, you still have a ways to go..." as if I look like I am going to give birth tomorrow or something!

Fortunately, I have not had much of this unwanted advice, probably because I keep a distance away from most people. I am secluded at work because it's just my boss and me, and I don't do much outside my house. Like I said, I've been quite fortunate with not having so much advice and rude comments. Bless you all for your awesome comments! They made me laugh heartily.

ME ME ME.. my MIL had me so stressed with my first that I ended up with sever depression, I was losing my hair more then normal... IT WAS INSANE!!! I went through so much from her nasty comments and advise. But I am on my third now and have learned to let it go in one ear and out the other, although at times I wish i could flip out and call her names and make her feel as low and as bad as she made me.. i don't. Thing is I knew most of the stuff she would say to me was old fashioned, wrong... just made me feel like she didn't trust me to do what I felt was right for my kdis. You just have to learn to expect that others will voice their opinions and say what they want and you just do what you want cause in the end its your child!!

It is amazing how people who have never been preggers can even give advice about it. All of a sudden everyone knows everything you should do. The best thing to do is listen and laugh. Some people are just trying to help. I know it gets frustrating. I still get "advice" even tho I have 4 kids. Two of which are teens.

Oh i know how you feel im due in August. I have heard ( oh its going to be long hot summer) a million times. And it gets very and it keeps coming.People i dont know i nod and smile, the ones i do know i have told them to stop. So if its family or friends people your close too tell them how you feel. they will understand. Good luck.

OHHHHH YESSSS. And it never stops. I have had 17 preg's ( only 6 made it) and the advice that I would get!!!!!!!I had one guy look at me when I was preg with my biggest boy and he said"wow, I have never seen someone so little, so BIG before, is that normal?" and the "you need to rest, you need regular excersise, you need to be in bed, you need to not drink coffee, your NOT going to eat that steak rare are you?" blahblahblah blah!!!! I have however got the "stare" down pat now when some stranger wants to unsolicitely put their hand on my belly, and they quickly take it away!LOL HAHAHAHA So I'm sorry, there really isn't anything much that can ward these things off. Although when someone does try to give advice I TRY to get in " Thank you for your concern, would you mind if I asked you for advice sometime when I need it? That would be helpful. In the mean time, how are you?" This way they feel valued and you've go them onto their favorite subject. THEM! LOL people will oftern open their mouths to see what they are thinking, there is no stopping it. Good luck:-)

LOL! I have heard so many of the summer comments it's not even funny. As though I didn't already know how uncomfortable I'm going to be being pregnant almost the entire month of July and carrying all this extra weight? Yeah I hear ya on that one!

If one more person tells me how uncomfortable i'm gonna be this summer I'll drop kick them! I love that pregnancy seems to be the one time in a woman's life when all tact goes out the window. all of a sudden it's like it's ok for everyone to comment about how huge we are and throw in their opinion about what we're eating, etc.

I have and it doesn't stop there. I am constantly getting advice about parenting, 'give her apple juice mixed with water' 'give her cereal' 'just let her cry' blah blah blah. My advice, learn to start ignoring it now.

I certainly have lol - from things like 'you shouldn't find out the sex on scan' to 'breastfeeding didn't work for me so dont bother trying' but this is from one person - I see her at the bottom end of my friends scale since I got pregnant, she's married into my husbands family but thankfully we dont see her unless WE visit them (so we havent seen them for 17 weeks - they live 3 miles from us), on the other hand I have some really great supportive friends too x sorry to rant x I think that every pregnant woman experiances this - I'm dreading people judging after the birth now :-)

Unfortunately the unwanted advice gets even worse once the baby is here. Plus women don't know how to keep stupid comments to themselves like "Oh are you having twins, you look so large". Or "Oh you are pregnant? I was wondering why you looked so big" Those are 2 I got among others. Just keep in mind everyone has their own opinion that they think you just NEED to hear or you won't get through your pregnancy. I just learned to block them out. Good luck
