I was in the E.R all day because i woke up with serious signs of food posioning. My husband had the same meal and had the same symptoms. Im 4 weeks pregnant after a mc about 8 weeks ago. I had very, very bad stomach pain today. And my hcg levels were 1200. Can food posioning hurt the fetus.. I was chicken that made me sick. I go back to test my hcg levels again in 2 days to see if baby is fine.. but im extremly worried. I would love if anyone had any links to sites to back up their theory. Thansk so much!

MelissaJoanne - 67 days ago Rating: 1 (1 votes) Ick I hadn't realized you'd been so sick! My hus. and I had something similar, but not to the point of having to go to the hospital. I hope you're feeling better now.

lmo - 71 days ago Rating: 3 (2 votes) i dont think that it would hurt the baby becuase you have seen a doctor. drink as much fluids as you can and keep taking your vitamins. hope everything goes well

Christina1984 - 71 days ago Rating: 3.5 (2 votes) i dont have any links but i had very bad food poisoning and so did my fiance when i was about 6 wks, the baby was fine tho. it was the worst thing ever too

joyfulnoise - 71 days ago Rating: 3.5 (2 votes) Drink plenty of fluids, and keep taking your prenatal vitamin. Good luck!

Baby3OnWay - 71 days ago Rating: 5 (1 votes) http://health.discovery.com/centers/pregnancy/americanbaby/foodpoison.html I would call your Dr JUST INCASE.. this site says that it can cause a stillborn if passed to fetus but if seen by a Dr can be prevented!! But again it is early in your pregnancy and I have also read somewhere that since your immune system can be highend during pregnancy and the fact that you did not get hospitalized from a REAL BAD case should lessen these chances BIG TIME. Hope the site helps and hope things are fine with you and your little one. God Bless and let me know how things are

Mommyof2boys - 71 days ago Rating: 3 (1 votes) I think there was another question on here about food poisoning, anway its not suppposed to cross unto the fetus or harm it, keep drinking lots of water and get plenty of rest and try not to worry, good luck at your next apt.

ashleyandcaleb - 71 days ago Rating: 1 (1 votes) I don't know much,im only 17 but i do know it'll all be ok:)

lady26 - 71 days ago Rating: 4 (2 votes) At 4 weeks your baby is only an embryo, it doesn't have a face or heartbeat, it's just cells so food poison should not affect the embryo too much. Take your folic acid and don't worry too much.

Love~2008~ - 71 days ago Rating: 3 (1 votes) I don't believe the baby (fetus) will be hurt but check with your doctor anyway to check heartbeat and all....

mommy-of-3 - 71 days ago Rating: 3 (1 votes) I have heard that food poisioning will not hurt the baby. If you are concerned you should bring it up to your doctor but you should be just fine.
