ok this is my third pregnancy and I should know this by now, especially after just giving birth in Nov `07... Anyways I am just about in my 18th week of pregnancy and I know discharge increases throughout, and that the color varies from person to person BUT today it was a really thick snotty like discharge... and it had a kind of bad odor to it... not horrible just distinct like when you drink too much caffine and your urine smells like coffee kind of thing LOL (sounds so weird) I was wearing a panty liner but found I had to change it more then usual... is this a common thing? could it have something to do with my diet? i don`t remember it being like this EVER with my last two and am thinking I should get an appointment mainly due to the odor. OR should i wait and see what another day brings before I go all crazy??

Baby3OnWay - 85 days ago THANKS ALL BUT AGAIN NO MORE ANSWERS PLEASE!!!!!!!!! its done, dealt with.. I know you want more points but I don't need anymore answers!!!!!

lady26 - 85 days ago Rating: 5 (1 votes) Check with your doctor, you might have a bacteria

Baby3OnWay - 85 days ago MAYBE I SHOULD ADD THAT I HAVE HAD A BACTERIA IN MY URINE BUT CAME OUT AS NOT INFECTION... it was only one day! Thanks to all that wrote I have what I need and no langer have the issue THANKS!

monica9 - 85 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) you may have bacterial vaginosis. i would get the doc to check it out

athome - 88 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) It could be thrush or a bacteria which is very common in pregnancy. Talk to your pharmacist about treatments. I also take cranberry tablets to keep UTI's and thrush under control. Cutting down on sugar can also help.

Mommyof2boys - 88 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) It sounds normal, but you might have a little infection next time at your doc they do a urine culture they'll know for sure if you do have any infection and can treat it with antibiotics. good luck!

lmo - 88 days ago Rating: 3 (1 votes) that is normal to have alot of discharge with a distective odor to it.

UKMama - 88 days ago Rating: 4 (1 votes) This made me smile. I know just what you mean! Sometimes I go to the loo and come away thinking, "How on Earth does all that get up there??" If you aren't sore or itchy and any smell isn't offensive, then you are doing just fine and your baby is being well defended my your body (hideous as that can be a times :0)

professorpreggers - 88 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) This is totally normal--yucky but normal. I've had days of excessive discharge too and my Dr said only to worry if I thought I was getting a yeast infection. My Dr told me that just like we had cycles with more or less discharge, now that discharge has just increased and is much more visible. I had one day where it was literally peeing out of me and it smelled a bit like a rabbit hutch. Sorry. I know, nasty, but all this to say, it's a normal symptom of pregnancy.

gr8scottswife - 88 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) It will increase, but if there's an odor or change in color, you may have an infection, from all I've read.

joyfulnoise - 88 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I think it's normal, and comes with the territory. Change the undies atleast 2 times a day, and shower or bathe 2 times a day as well. Congrats on baby! :-)

klasnaya - 88 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I think its normal...And a pantyliner will make it smell more i have decided lol...Yeah its common i dont wear pantyliners but i change my undies like 2-3 times a day and just wash myself...works for me lol

mommy-of-3 - 88 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Discharge can and does change frequently throughout the pregnancy, the snotty discharge shouldn't be anything to be concerned about but as always when it doubt, call the doctor to be sure. As for the odor thing I had this too a while back, I would notice it when I went to the bathroom not to sound gross but like my pee smelled funny. I didn't end up having an infection so I can only figure it had something to do with changing hormones. I would give it a little time and see what happens, if the odor becomes stronger I would make an appointment because it could very well be an infection. During pregnancy it is sooooooo much easier to get U.T.I's Bacterial vaginosis, yeast infections, all that fun stuff.

ibudoris - 88 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I say definitely wait to see what one more day brings, it very well could be a diet or hormone thing, and the whole discharge thing is so common as we all know. If your OB has a question line you could call it and leave you question on an answering machine with the nurse practitioners. I did this several times with my first two pregnancies and they called me back with answers, or if my question did indicate something may be serious they suggested I make an appointment to see the OB in person. I don't know how big your OB practice is but hopefully they might have something like that so you can ask without having to go in right away.

Baby3OnWay - 88 days ago Sorry also if you guys have an appointment anytime soon with a Dr or MW could you ask and get me some advise as well... VIP me anytime! THANKS IN ADVANCE!
