Hi, Somethimes I get like a hotflash / dizzy, about to pass out, room spinning sensation. Anyone know why? It passes in a couple minutes and Im fine again.

kmokat - 203 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I had that too. It can be caused by low blood pressure, or low blood sugar. My doctor told me it was totally normal

lady26 - 203 days ago Rating: 5 (1 votes) I get that every now and then but my husband doesn't take me seriously.

RandiLee - 203 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I get that a lot....and it's because I have low blood pressure. But it can go both ways..

wildberry - 204 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i felt that way when i was preggers i had high blood pressure but not my entire pregnancy and i still had that feeling even without high blood pressure i was told to eat good(could be blood sugar) and drink enough(it could also be dehydration) i did these things and they didnt help but give it a try it might help you

niki - 204 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I had similar feelings, my blood pressure was fine i was told it was just the increase in hormones.... mention to your midwife just to be on the safe side. Take care x

lmo - 205 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) sounds like something to do with blood pressure if it gets too bad you should contact your doctor

gr8scottswife - 205 days ago Rating: 1 (1 votes) That's normal.

Christina1984 - 205 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) my doc asked me if i felt that way after he took my blood pressure. i believe it has something to do with that.and possibly gestational diabeties.

nich-vegas-mommy2be - 205 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I am so glad you asked because sometimes I experience this too! Do any of these answers sound like it could be the reason for you? Let me know what you find out, thanks!

joyfulnoise - 205 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Maybe a blood pressure situation or just simply your body building up the extra blood volume. I've had this once in awhile. If it severe, call your Doctor right away.

UKMama - 205 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) It sounds like LOW blood pressure. I'm 23 weeks and have been swooning (and occasionally getting hot cheeks and neck) if I suddenly turn or get up quickly (my hair can stand on end too, which feels very creepy!), for about 3 weeks now. My BP has always been on the low side in pregnancy. It doesn't feel great but it's so very much better than high BP and the problems that come with that (OMW)! If your breathing and heartrate are still regular and you aren't feeling pale or washed out, it won't be anemia, which is good news too. Get the symptoms seconded by a doc but I bet it's low BP which, despite it's odd and inconvenient sensations is actually a good thing to 'suffer' with in pregnancy :0D

sweetypie923 - 205 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I had the same feeling. I think I was dehydrated because when I increased my h20 it went away.

athome - 205 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Hi, Your body is producing and circulating lots more blood than it is used to as well as charting a new "circuit" through your body. While this sorts its self out you can notice times where you feel light headed or very hot, its all normal but if you do feel faint stop and put your head down dont try and push on through it. It will pass quickly.

Baby3OnWay - 205 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) it could be blood pressure, low iron or just that you get up or move positions too fast. This happens to me through out pregnacy all the time. Try the prenatals, get iron checked, and drink plenty of liquids! take care and move slow!!

eastern-Canadian-Lady - 205 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I have low blood pressure all the time anyway (usually about 77/63) , so in pregnancy is no different for me. I get dizzy all the time, so I have to get up slower. I would still ask the doc though bc the doc may want to run some tests to see if that is the problem. It could be something else. try not to worry. good luck, E-C-L

Melanie07 - 205 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Try and get up slower. It will happen when you sit or stand up too fast. It is a quick drop in blood pressure. Also keep hydrated. Drink lots of water. I would still mention it to your doc. You should always mention any concerns with your doc. No matter how little the concern. That is what the doc is there for. They actually prefer that you ask them things. They can not read your mind.

Its-Chelle - 205 days ago Rating: 1 (1 votes) i felt that way every morning, a few hrs after being up..what helped me was to lay down on my left side, dont knw why but it went away a lot quicker..

mommy-of-3 - 205 days ago Rating: 1 (1 votes) A lot of women get this dizzy feeling in pregnancy and the majority of the time there's nothing wrong with you it's just par for the pregnancy course. I had this early on and I still get it every now and then and I'm 27 weeks now.

jessicadarling - 205 days ago Rating: 5 (1 votes) I had that happen to me at a bus stop while I was pregnant. It caused me to nearly faint but instead I threw up in front of everyone! Then I walked home my bf came home from work and took me to the docs. Turns out I had low blood pressure. After I delivered I had the near fainting happen again but they took my blood and I was Anemic. So it could be one of those two things OR something else. Talk to your doctor.

Mommyof2boys - 205 days ago Rating: 5 (1 votes) It could be a drop in blood pressure, which is common in pregnancy. Also your balance is way off during pregnancy can make you feel dizzy and then if you think hard about it and start to worry it will make the sensation worse and can last for a while. If it continues to bother you talk to your doc. It could also be from your equilibrum it could be off a little causing those same symptoms. Good luck!!

MelissaJoanne - 205 days ago Rating: 1 (1 votes) I'd suspect it to be just another one of the joys provided by the crazy hormones of pregnancy. Dizzy spells and even fainting are not unusual when pregnant. As long as you're getting enough water, vitamins, nutrition, it shouldn't be anything to be too concerned about. Certainly let your doctor know if it gets worse or more frequent.
