When did you return to work and how did you feel about that decision?

slg3233 - 97 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) With my last 2 pregnancies, I returned to work about 2 or 3 weeks after because of financial issues but this time, I a mplanning on staying my 6 weeks out if I can help it.

kmokat - 98 days ago Rating: 5 (1 votes) I am returning to work on Sunday. My daughter will be 3 days shy of 12 weeks old. I am sad, but know she'll be in good hands. She will be with my sister or husband. Hopefully, I will be able to stay home in a few months. I carry thee insurance.

mtnwoman - 98 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I returned to work 2 months after Riley was born. I hated leaving him, and it was horrible thinking that he now can survive with-out me! But in reality he still needs me and I will always be his mom. I would have stayed home longer but I only got a couple weeks paid maternity leave and we need money to pay bills! The upside of working is getting out of the house and having some human interaction with intellectual conversations. Still, if I could be a stay at home mom I would! Everyone is different, but thats how I feel.

kathleen - 98 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i am returning to work in June after 9mths off and i am dreading it. i'm just so enjoying life without the hassle and stress of work.

MelissaJoanne - 98 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I agree with lady26 - there is no correct answer. Some of us enter into a new career of stay-at-home-mama (which I really look forward to!), others go back quickly. do what feels right for your body, your baby, and your family.

ashleyandcaleb - 98 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) http://www.babyworld.co.uk/information/working/returning_to_work.asp hope this is of some help:)

RandiLee - 98 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I've heard of people going back too early and regretting it. I'm going to try and stay home for a year....If I don't go insane, lol.

Melanie07 - 98 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I went back to work at 6 weeks. I didn't really have a choice this time around. My first, I quit work. My second, I went back at 8 weeks. I would have liked to stay out as long as I could. A lot of people have to work to make ends meet. It is really a personal decision.

lady26 - 98 days ago Rating: 5 (1 votes) I think going back to work is a personal and family based decision. There is no right or wrong answer. Some jobs are more demanding and will require you to return sooner, others are more flexible. If you are the primary earner in the family you may need her to return sooner. However, Staying home with a newborn is wonderful and exhausting. Try to give yourself adequate time to recover physically from childbirth, bond with your baby and make arrangements that you are comfortable with for when you go back.

lmo - 98 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i returned to work after 6 weeks it was hard but had to make money

2xmom - 98 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I had to return to work after 3 weeks. We have a family business, and it was necessary for me to return. As much as I would have loved to stay home longer, it worked out fine. My little guy got to come to work for about a week. My customers were happy to see him!

leahs - 98 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) With my first child I was a single parent and had to go back to work within 6wks, my 2nd child my hubby and I decided I would stay at home with the kids until the youngest was 2 1/2yrs old (easier/cheaper daycare) just after she turned 2 I found out I was pregnant again, oops. She is now 4mo and I plan to return to work in a couple months. It's so hard at any age, I wish you the best.

mommy2twogreatkids - 98 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) With my 1st I returned to work when daycare would take them here at 8 weeks, but my daughter I stayed at home with. Now we are having twins and I am probably going to need to stay home! But no matter when you leave them it is very sad, and it will take time to get used to.

mrsbekki - 98 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) My husband and I have made the decision that I will not being going to work after the baby. I am so excited about being a stay at home mom. Personally, I feel better doing it this way then having a stranger take care of my kid. (we don't have family or friends that would be able to watch the baby)

ibudoris - 98 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) My first is almost 3, my second is 1 1/2, and I'm due in Nov. I still haven't gone back to work, and probably wont till their all in school. I love being home with my kids, they are so cool, and I'm glad I haven't missed a moment. My husband works very hard and we had to really simplify our lifestyle to make it work, but I don't regret it a bit. They grow up so fast, and before you know it, the moments are gone. Good luck with everything!

kayla-love - 99 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) With my 1st I went back to work when he was 16 mths. I think its different here though (Austria) they left you stay off work for up to two years. I went back early as they were busy and I offered. Saying that though I only went back part-time so I wasnt missing out on any milestones from my baby.

niki - 99 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Im still of on maternity leave but am due back to work sometime in September - i want to breastfeed until shes a year so im hoping to go off on the sick after that.... i hate the thought of leaving my wee woman - but i may feel different when shes a year old. x

Mommyof2boys - 99 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I returned when my son was 6mos old, I couldn't stand it so I decided to stay at home with him, he is now 4 1/2 and I'm glad I made that decision. Good luck!

kathysbigbelly - 99 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I returned to work 3 months after my twin boys were born. It felt strange and yet exciting to be back in the company of adults. I missed my boys but I had to remember that if I did not work I could not support so I swallowed my sorrow and went back to work but it made coming home so special b/c I was able to play with them and realy enjoy them..

sarahann - 99 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I was meant to return to work after six months, (for which I got paid maternity leave) however I felt that I wasn't ready to leave my baby, and she wasn't ready either. I would've been away from her for 14 hours per shift, making things very difficult considering she won't take a bottle at all and still breastfeeds often. Around the time I was meant to return, she started waking every hour every night and I could only settle her by breastfeeding her. There was no way I could return to work as I was so exhausted. Now I have taken annual leave and long service leave and I don't have to return to work until she is 1 year old. I still dread returning to work, but I realise how lucky I am to be spending this critical time with her. I will only be returning to work for financial reasons.

joyfulnoise - 99 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I went back to work 6 months after having our 1st. Only a couple weeks after our 2nd because we owned our own business and I could just bring him with me. We decided for me to not work anymore after we had our 3rd. Now we are expecting our 4th.

Baby3OnWay - 99 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I returned back to work after 63 weeks off. I get a whole 52 weeks paid but I got more as I was on sick leave as well with my pregnancy and I didn't want to go back, had anxiety about it all but I did it and I was ok... my second one I am still on maternity and will be until sept, but i am due in septmeber and am heading back to School in Jan so... its a little confussing yes but that would be 15months with the second child and only 3months for the next!

mommy-of-3 - 99 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I went back to work 6 weeks after I had my oldest. With my youngest I went back after 4 weeks because of my financial situation and it almost caused me some serious problems because when I went for my 6 week check, my uterus was still too large. The doctor warned me I could have gotten an infection and even possibly started hemmoraging. Needless to say they told me this time around I HAVE to take at least 6 weeks off. If I could afford it I would take at least 2 months off if not 3. The time goes so fast and when our kids are babies it is the most memorable precious time of all.
