Has anyone had trouble with $ store tests and evaporation lines? I had 4 positives with the $ store brand but 5 negatives with other brands. I am ttc #2, so it is very evil for this to happen!!!

billo - 83 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I had the same thing, I did seven tests in total, three were positive, three were negative and one told me to consult the leaflet - great. Very useful. When I went to the doctor, I asked it he wanted to do a test to confirm for sure, but he said that having had three positives, he was sure they were correct. And he was right. You very rarely get a false positive. If I were you I would go to the doctor to make sure, there's no point worrying about it. I like the first response brand, but it sounds very positive to me! Good luck with it all!

Baby3OnWay - 84 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I go by the saying that there are false negatives but never false positives... but with $ store tests I would never trust those. I would go to the Dr and see what they say!

kathleen - 84 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i had cheep pregnancy test and they were both right so they do work, i would ask a doctor to confirm it for u instead

gladek - 84 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) If you want to be sure, but don't want to wait for a doctor's apt, most labs (at hospitals and clinic) offer confidental, no apt pregnancy blood tests for around ten dollars, and you get the results the same day.

candace3 - 84 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) all of my pregnancy tests were dollar store, and all accurate.

njstewy - 84 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I like the clearblue test. I would however make an appointment to see what the doc says

froggy - 84 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) ive had issuses with cheap brand test try to get frist response i trust them

jessicadarling - 84 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) The best way to make sure is to schedule an appointment with your doctor and let them do the test. Although with my doctor I had a HPT turn out positive and went to see her and she said she wouldn't do her own test on me because when an HPT says positive it is positive that you are pregnant. It was true for me. Wait a little while for the hormones to increase some more and then get another test

lady26 - 84 days ago Rating: 5 (1 votes) I also believe if you have any positives you are pregnant. I read there can be false negatives but rarely if ever any false positives.

RandiLee - 84 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) All I know is that false negatives are very common....but false positives....not so much. Good Luck *!! :)

lmo - 84 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) if you got positives than you are most likely pregnant call your doctor and have a blood test done. good luck baby dust

MelissaJoanne - 84 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I would suspect that if you got any positives, then you are pregnant. If you are pregnant the hormones will continue to double, so pretty soon you will be more positives. And of course, the doctor can tell you for sure. Good luck!

monica9 - 84 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I would get the digital one that either says pregnant or not pregnant. Its worth it!!

joyfulnoise - 84 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I would wait a couple days and test with a regular brand test. The Equate test at Walmart is cheaper and yet reliable. Good Luck

mommy2twogreatkids - 84 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) You can have bad test anywhere you buy them. I recently found out I was pregnant with a $ store test and turns out we are having twins! So mine worked fine. Just visit your doctor or the health department for sure.

mooboo35 - 84 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) As you probably know different tests pick up different levels of hcg, maybe the dollar store ones were more sensitive, I dont want to get your hopes up but normally a positive is a positive, good luck and keep us updated

agonzales - 84 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I would buy me another test.. maybe clearblue(I think thats what its called lol) and take it first thing in the morning. The first morning urine has the most hcg in it and if you're prego then it should come out +. If that doesnt work then get a blood test taken from the docs office. Good luck and I hope you get your baby=)

Meadow - 84 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I did read that you should not test right after the other. The HCG levels don't have time to build up if you take them too close together.

ibudoris - 84 days ago Rating: 5 (1 votes) Taking the test first thing in the morning usually yields the most accurate results because your hormones are the most consentrated in your urine. Be sure the test isn't outdated, and if anything like others have said, go get tested at your doc's. Good luck, that has to be so frustrating!

baby.bray - 84 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I also bought a pound shop test in the UK which gave me a very faint positive (but I think I was early testing anyway) then I bought the test that you can use 4 days before your period is due, since I was fairly confident that I was pregnant and I'm never sure that 'x' day is the day I'm due and it was postive so I personally would recommend the more expensive early test or better yet got to your drs x good luck :-)

niki - 85 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) My advice would be to go and get tested at your local health centre - so you dont get false hopes - i found pregnancy tests on ebay apparently they use them in the hospital. Good luck in ttc

kayla-love - 85 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I tried a pound shop test (from the UK) and it was positive but with a faint line. Then I brought more expensive test and it was positive again. If your still not getting positives with your test then pop along to your docs for a test.

JillyBones - 85 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) My dollar store one turned out positive almost instantly. Wasn't sure how trustworthy a dollar pregnancy test could be so I went out and bought a digital clearblue, waited until I had to pee naturally and took it and it was positive as well. Called the doc, had another test done there and got the railroad tracks :) Good luck! I hope it really is a positive for you!

Rebekahs-mama - 85 days ago Thank you all for your answers. I always check the dates on both the box and on the inside wrapper just to make sure they match and are in date. These tests were all good until sometime in 2010. I have an appointment scheduled for Monday but just wondered if anyone else had this kind of trouble. The other tests I took were cheapies from Walmart and they all came out negative. When I found out I was preggers with my daughter both the Walmart and $ store tests came back positive...so hence the confusion this time! Oh yeah...and the ones that came out positive were all taken in the evening while a couple of the negs were taken with first morning urine.

Mommyof2boys - 85 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I had all positives when I did the dollar store brands, and I also got one from Target and it was positive. Sometimes they can be out of date, I would make an apt to get a for sure yes or no.

ashleyandcaleb - 85 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I had all negatives, went to the doctor and got a positive

mommytobe29 - 85 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) beware of testing, then drinking a bunch of water to test again afterwards. lol i made the mistake of doing this and got a "+", "+", then a "-"

mommy-of-3 - 85 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) That is kind of strange, I'm wondering if the shelf life on the dollar store test had expired making it inaccurate? I would try a different test from somewhere other than the $ Store that is meant to be taken early and see what comes up. When I tested with this baby I just bought a generic test from Target, think it cost me $4.00 and it worked just fine.
