Knowing that the baby is developing good, the question arises.... Do i tell them at the interview i am 7 weeks pregnant, if so, How do i word it to make it sound like i still want to work my hardest. I plan on working up until the day i deliver... PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!

I had an interview when I was 16 weeks pregnant. I went ahead and made the decision to let them know at my interview that i was expecting a baby. Not once did they ask me if I was pregnant. It really was none of their business. But i felt like it was the best thing for me to do since i knew I was going to be showing soon. Plus I had great recommendation letters from my previous GM. In your case since you're so early on in your pregnancy I would probably not say anything until later after the 12 week mark. Also I had a friend that worked at motherhood and she started later on in her pregnancy.

Don't tell them. If you do, there is a great chance they will not hire you. You are not that far along. After they hire you, you can pretend you just found out. Legally they can not discriminate but, they can get around that. I got pregnant just as I was getting hired at two of my jobs. One being the one I am at now. Not telling them is not lying. It is just not giving personal info.

I usually believe in complete honesty, however if I were in your situation I would not tell them. Most women do not even tell their own family they are pregnant until at least 12 weeks, so I would work on that principle (even though things are going great for you and baby is healthy). Best of luck with your pregnancy and good luck for the interview!

I would wait to tell them until you get hired, and even then I would wait a little longer before you actually tell them. You wouldn't want people who don't really know you passing judgement on what your work performance is going to be like now that you're pregnant.

wait alittle longer sweetie unless you are really suffering from the pregnancy m/sickness etc... I had this problem even working temporary and I did tell the agency who sent me for cover work and they danced around saying (in not so many words) no but with some other excuse rather than illegaly refusing because I was pregnant x

i would wait just a bit longer to reveal anything. they cannot let you go due to pregnancy. however, as another posts states if your morn sickness is terrible, you will have to say something. but right now, i think it would be a good choice to not reveal anything. when i got a job i had just found out i was preg. i did not say anything til i was 4.5 months along and by then i was fine and so were they. (i had little or no morn. sickness nor was i showing) also, not to be cruel, but just in case something were to happen (god forbid) you would have to field less questions about any loss, its better to wait until you are a bit further along before revealing too much to too many people. saves a little heartache. good luck w/ your interview!

I'd tell them, so they'd understand if you were gone for a couple of days due to appointments or morning sickness etc.

Don't say anything until you start showing because they may use it against you and not hire you. You can probable hide it for at least 5/6 mnths. I know people say you should tell your employers upfront but do you really think if they are going to hire after you tell them. But, then again it's motherhood, are they going to have you model their clothes. I would not say anything unless your planning on being one of the maternity models.

No you don't some ppl feel that if they do it will not get them the job but in realtiy its your personal life and you can keep that personal there are some laws to protec pregnant women from discrimination but its different in every state i believe so you should look up pregnancy in the work place laws for you state good luck hun!

I would tell them. I think that it being Motherhood, you can relate more to the customers. I think it would be strange that you get the job and then say, "Oh by the was I am expecting a baby." I think it might give them the wrong impression.

Maybe consider not completely telling them, but allowing them to know that you are in a place in life where starting a family would be a wonderful blessing.

it is best to be honest from the start. it is illegal for them not to hire u cuz ur pregnant, however they could use another reason. me and my friend were fired from our job in february cuz of being pregnant. good luck. if its at motherhood then i think they would be more apt to hire u

i say it depends on the type of job is it a job you will return to after the baby will the job effert harm your BABY if you wount be returing back there to work i wouldnt tell them but if you plan on going back i would tell them so there is no harm or faul. This is comming from a ass. bakery manager that went thew hiring a girl that didnot tell us and ended up she could not do her job duties well. So she had to tell us 3months after she was hiried.

It isn't legally required so I wouldn't tell them. They may not want to offer maternity leave so they would find another reason not to hire you or WOULD SAY another reason they can't hire you so you couldn't legally do anything. Just go in there and do your best and once they see you are a great worker that is when you should tell them you are pregnant

You definitely don't have to tell them...It's the law. Legally they cannot refuse you just because you are pregnant...but most people will find another reason...just because they know how hard it is to stand up a long time..
Not to mention, they usually think you're just looking for a job so you can take advantage of maternity leave.
I wouldn't tell them...
And congratulations *!

Congratulations on your pregnancy, as others have said it is not a legal obligation for you to tell them, so you are doing nothing wrong by not telling them.

You dont have to tell them...by law. And trust me many employers will find other reasons not to hire you if they know! I used to tell at an interview and suckers never even called. That just gets me boiling. They have no respect for pregnant women so just dont tell them!

I would say no. If you are hired there, wait until about 12 weeks to tell them. While they can't legally decide against you because of pregnancy, they could find another reason to not hire you. They might be concerned that you were trying to get a job there strictly for a deal on maternity clothes, not because you'd really love to work there as long as you can. There is no need to reveal any sort of medical history in a job interview. It won't benefit you any to reveal pregnancy, or other medical issues, so why bother. Good luck at your interview!

No way you tell them! Your life goes on and so will theirs once you leave to have your baby. If it were a little corner shop or small family company, I'd say differently but a large company can cope with the tooing and froing of staff quite easily. Plus, they have no right to know (in the UK it's illegal to even ask about a woman's family plans too). As I said, your world is still turning. You need this job, you offer them what you have. The pregnancy doesn't make you unsuitable or unwise in taking this job anyway. You can tell them officially when you have to give notice. Until then, I say "Ssshhhhhhhh!"

Yeah normally I'm a huge advocate of telling them, because legally they can't decide against you because of your pregnant. But because you're only 6-7 weeks along, I wouldn't just because there is still the chance of something going wrong (knock on wood). I would just go to the interview and tell them once you've hit the second trimester.

Yes, you should tell them. There is no need to worry about pregnancy affecting their decision about hiring you. They can't tell you that they won't hire you due to your pregnacy, that is illegal. If they choose not to hire you, it would have to be for another reason. Good Luck!

i wouldnt tell them yet... you are still very early on that things could happen.. and you dont really need to tell them since you are so early on, later after you get the job you can tell them you found out you were pregnant.. if you tell them at the interview it might ruin your chances, cuz in 7 months or so you are out, and they may not want to hire you because of that.

Tell them you just found out you were pregnant and really want this job. Explain that you want to work up until your due date and plan on returning there after. The worst that can happen is they say no, but I dont think they have the right to.

I just went through the same thing!! I just accepted a job as a CNA and I did not tell them about the pregnancy. I feel bad about being dishonest but I did not want to be discriminated against. I start on May 12th and will be 7 weeks along. The worst part of the situation is that over time there are going to be aspects of my new job that will be too much for me. But I couldn't resist the benefits package!

Your probably better off waiting until your by the first trimester.... being pregnant shouldnt affect your chances of getting the job.

I agree, telling them might lessen your chances on getting the job most of the time employers higher based on who could be long term i agree in telling them later when you start showing

do not tell them because that will give them a reason not to hire you. they'll eventually figure it out soon but they cant fire you over it. because then you can get unemployment from them. :)
