I`m 33 weeks and was told my baby was transverse. Anyone else still breech or transverse this late? I`m hoping the baby turns because I don`t want a c-section. :(

Hi, Have a read through this in information it is FANTASTIC and suggests a number of things you can do to try and get baby to move. I wish I had read this before my first bub as she was delivered by C section because of being posterior and had I known about this I could have perhaps moved her. Anyway have a read its priceless information http://www.plus-size-pregnancy.org/malpositions.htm#Strategies%20To%20Correct%20Malpositions [

im 33 weeks and my baby is in breech position, ive actualy heard c-sections can be alot easier to handle and alot better then normal birth..it only takes about 45 minutes instead of how ever many hours u would be in labour and u just lay there and feel tugging instead of pushing and pushing and in the end u keep ur same natural body just with a scar, but a scar to remind u u had a healthy baby!! my baby feels like she is turning but it still may be too late for her to turn over so i might have a c-section too,its nothing to worry about honestly,i think id rather have a c-section=]if u let ur tummy loose it will help baby to move aorund more, try this and see how it works,

Your baby will move a lot until labor. My baby was head down at 33 weeks and facing my back and at week 36 she was head down facing up. MY doc said not to worry b/c she will most likely move more. Try getting down on all fours with your butt up in the air and let your stomach hang. I heard this works.

My baby was fine right up until I was in labour, then she turned and was breech. They rubbed lotions on me and turned her with massages. She turned breech again, they had to do it again. It was uncomfortable both times, but not painful exactly. I didn't get a c-section.
good luck

There is still time for your baby to get into the best position. As already mentioned below, there are positions you can try to get your baby to turn around and settle lower into your pelvis, including down on all fours and rocking, and standing with your legs apart and rocking your pelvis. These are best done when the baby is awake and moving around themselves. As a rule though, when sitting down don't lean back or cross your legs, try and sit leaning forward with your legs apart so that the weight of the baby and gravity work together so the baby naturally swings forward and down. Good luck!

You still have time for the baby to turn around. Even if your baby doesn't do it on their own, the doc may try turning the baby.

Don't worry you still have plenty of time for baby to get into the correct position. A lot of the time baby won't turn/get into position until days before you deliver.

the baby still has time to change positions, it can move as late as when you go into labor.

if your 33 weeks, you may till have time for your baby to change positions.I know that sometimes doctors actually try to move transverse babies into the right position, which is obviously painful for the mother,i didnt know ti was possible at all till i saw it.i say just give ti time and read about breech/transverse babies.

Babies are often not 'head down' until about 36 weeks; up until then they may lie transverse (across), or breech (bottom down) so you shouldn't worry at the moment. As long as there isn't a reason that baby cannot be head down (for example, fibroids in the womb, or a condition of the baby that prevents him from moving-both rare), then there is a high chance of baby being 'cephalic' (head down) by 36 weeks. After this time, an Obstetrician may suggest ECV (external cephalic version)-essentially moving the baby by pressing firmly but gently on your tummy in the direction that the baby needs to move in order to be head down. ECV is considered safe (complications are very rare) and increases the chances of having a normal vaginal birth. It is usually done on the delivery ward, with the baby monitored before and after, as an out-patient and takes about 10-15 minutes or so.

Its okay, 95% of babies will get into the right position for labor. There are things your doctor can do to try to position the baby him self. If the baby doesn't move into right position you will probably need a cesarean section. Good luck!

I have also heard that spending a lot of time on 'all fours' (hands and knees) will encourage the baby to move.... but it's really uncomfortable, lol.

I was told that my baby is breeched and I am 34 weeks. I am too also hoping that the baby turns because I so do not want a c-section myself. But my Midwife said that the baby can turn, so I am hoping she does.

Transverse lie occurs in only 1 out of 2,500 births. Less than 20% of the babies who are transverse at 37 weeks will remain transverse when labor begins, so another option is to wait for labor to start and attempt to turn the baby or perform a cesarean if it is still necessary. Use good posture and activity during pregnancy to encourage the baby to move. Try techniques that help the baby rotate. Hopefully the little one will decide to change positions over the next month. Good luck!

mine keeps changing from transverse to head down and butt on the right side and feet up at the top. Those two are his fav positions. You still have time for the baby to get to the right position :)
