wildberry - 81 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) something you need to watch out for is your breasts over working your arms can cause you breasts to hurt so take it nice and slow wear a very supportive bra drink plenty of water eat well lots of veggies i am also at risk for diabetes(it runes in my family) so you should not drink juice eat the whole fruit instead just take it slow i walk and lift 2lb weights it sounds light but if you want lean muscle you need to go light with lots of reps and trust me after a few sets of ten those 2lbs seem much heaver i also dance with my baby he loves it and it's good cardio i'm 9 weeks postpartum and also breastfeeding all of these have been approved by my doc i know that you can do most exercises i just cant because i have a prolapse so go for it just take it easy

Melanie07 - 81 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Start slow. As long as you have stopped bleeding and feel up to it, you should be fine. Start with walking while pushing the stroller. The main thing you need to remember is keep hydrated. You need to drink lots of fluids while nursing. Exercise itself is not going to really effect nursing as long as you drink a lot. You do not want to do really strenuous exercises at first you could tear something very easily. It takes a long time for your insides to heal. You do not want to diet while nursing. You can eat healthier but you need the calories to produce the milk. Drinking a lot of water will help flush your body out. You can looses some weight by adding more water.

LMO - 82 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I Started to excersise when my daughter was 8 weeks. pilates, and i walked you can still breastfeed while excersicing just make sure you stay hydrated and eat well

skittles0607 - 82 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) The doc normally say once your blleding stops you can begin some light exercise.. get an exercise video at the store or look some healthy things on the computer..

Baby3OnWay - 82 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I say pilates...LOVE IT, and its never to early as long as you don't change your diet too much. make sure your eating and drinking enough to keep the milk flow going. I would also say that going to a gym and getting someone to train and get you started is another option for you as you willlearn to use the machines and do exercises properly decreasing your chance of injury, as well as not over working yourself right off the top. They can help you get a plan and stay on it! Best of Luck!

Mommyof2boys - 83 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) My friend nursed her baby and started a work out at 7 weeks doing pilates, she lost all the weight she needed in about 2mos and still does it because she says its the best workout she's ever done and noticed it really made a difference in her weight, muscle tone and relieved stress and her milk supply was fine, she made sure she was still eating the right stuff and getting some carbs in her diet but not too many but not taking them out of her diet. good luck!

leahs - 83 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Studies have shown that most nursing mothers tend to lose up to one and a half pounds a month for the first 4-6 months after giving birth, and continue to lose weight at a slower rate beyond that time. They tend to lose more weight than formula feeding moms who take in fewer calories. If you want to lose weight (and most of us do - how depressing to still be wearing those old maternity clothes we got so sick of after the baby is born…) plan to do so slowly. It's best not to try to aggressively lose weight during the first couple of months after birth, because during that time your body needs to recover from childbirth and establish a good milk supply. Losing weight too quickly (more than one to one and one half pounds per week) has been associated with the release of environmental contaminants stored in body fat into the milk.

gr8scottswife - 83 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Just walk. This is the best exercise ever.

monica9 - 83 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) They always say start off slow especially if you never exercised that rigorously before. 10 weeks seems a bit early. I would join a gym and hire a personal trainer. but just to let you know since I am studying to become a dietitian, that to loose weight without dieting properly will take forever and you will need to take a lot of time out of your day to do it. 30lbs is a lot to lose with exercise alone. remember that to lose weight and get to your healthy ideal body weight, it is 80% what you eat and 20% exercise. good luck

Debra - 83 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) To participate in an intense work out program, you do need to be finished bleeding before you begin. I would start with Yoga first and do that for a bit, start walking with baby and see how you feel, start by doing 30 min with the stroller and see how far you get. My fatigue level was pretty high still until about 8 weeks, and I bled for at least that long. An intense work out program will only put you at risk for increased bleeding- so be careful and don't start anything but yoga until you are done bleeding. It shouldnt' have an effect on your ability to nurse or produce milk- as long as you are staying well hydrated while exercising. ADD: breastfeeding will cause you to loose weight too- i'm 2 lbs less than my pre-pregnancy weight although my hips have widened. My other breastfeeding friends have also lost ALOt of weight. As books will tell you, you need to consume 300 additional calories a day when pregnant and then add 400 to that if you are breastfeeding. Breastfeeding therefore burns 700 calories a day! I eat a lot of things as well (but still can't stomach fast food or greasy meals) and have been loosing weight steadily.

MelissaJoanne - 83 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I would recommend yoga, or a similar strength/flexibility program such as that. It is safe and gentle enough for what your body is going through right now, breastfeeding, healing from baby. It is great for all over tone, and it can be as easy or intense as you'd like it to be. I also find that an increase in flexibility adds to feeling very womanly and feminine, which is definitely nice for the self esteem. If you don't have a convenient class to get to, or you'd rather just start out in private, you can pick up a dvd and a mat and start at home, at your own pace. I actually instruct a program similar to yoga, and I love it. It works well for woman of all body types, and can be modified for my pregnancy, or any other body/health issue. Good luck!

Brandi J. - 83 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Start slow and try not to lose more than 1-2 lbs/week, b/c the fat that you lose will release toxins into your milk if you lose more than that per week it will not be good for your baby. I was told by my doctor that walking is the best exercise that you can do for getting back into shape after baby. So pull out your stroller and go for a walk, it will be great for you and your baby! congrats to you on baby #4! Isn't it wonderful having 4 little ones! God Bless!

lady26 - 83 days ago Rating: 5 (1 votes) Normally, they said you should get your doctor go ahead before you begin any exercise program but I think you should be fine 4wks is more than enough time to get started with a excercise program. Some women have started as early as 24-48 hours after birth, it all depends on the type of delivery you had and how well you feel. You can probable start with proper nutrition and gradual return to exercises like walking, jogging and eventually light weight lifting. It can take 6-12 weeks to return to a pre-pregnancy state – sometimes longer – so don’t give up!

Christina1984 - 83 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i know that many women walk ( pushing the stroller) and it does not effect the milk production. i think if u do light exercises and not over do it u will be fine

michaela - 83 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) be careful not to lift heavy weights and don't put too much pressure on your back as all the ligaments are still slack from carrying your baby. They do't really go back to normal until about 4 months after delivery. I personally go for power walks and go swimming regularly too. From the nursing point of view, as long as you eat a healthy diet, lots of fresh ingredients and just cut down on portion sizes this wont affect your milk production. if you do decide to attend an exercise class you should let them know that you recently delivered and they will adapt the program for your needs.
