I just found out that i am a carrier of a balanced translocation of chromosomes 1 and 10. I was wondering if there is anyone out there who have the same problem? Also I was wondering if you are what have you done to increase your chances of becoming pregnant? I already have a 4 year old girl, but I have had 6 miscarriages. I was thinking maybe they could give me something to increase my egg production so that maybe there will be a better chance of a viable pregnancy. Any info would be of great help! Thanks!!

I'm not familiar with this, BUT I would say that in your case to check with your partners chromosomes as well and speak with the r you have been seeing and a fertility Dr or anOB/GYn to see what they have to suggest for you.

I am sorry to hear about your pregnancy loss. I read some where that approximately 20% of all recognized pregnancies will end in a spontaneous loss, most often within the first trimester. There are genetic and non-genetic causes of pregnancy loss. The main cause of miscarriage in the first trimester is due to a chromosomal abnormality (extra or missing genetic material), usually a one time chance occurrence that will not affect future pregnancies. It has been estimated that as much as 50% to 60% of all miscarriages that happen in the first trimester are due to a chromosomal abnormality.
There is a website that lists genetic clinics by geographic location: www.geneclinics.org; click on "clinic directory". Information about genetic counseling and how to find a genetic counselor in your area are available online from the National Society of Genetic Counselors at www.nsgc.org. Click on "consumer information" or "find a counselor".

Try herbs for fertility. Check with Nature's Sunshine for their herbs for women.

Im not familiar with that, but I do know that there are many ways they can increase your egg count and actually check your eggs for ones that dont have that balance. I would talk with a fertility specialist.

I am not sure on this one. Does it have to do with whether your partner is a carrier too? I have heard that sometimes if you both have it, it can cancel each other out. I feel for your concerns. you really need answers and it is hard to find them sometimes. Talk to a genetic counseller at a hospital. good luck

i dont have any clues on the chromosome thing but i recently saw a site that offers a large amount of things u can do to increase fertility and an egg staying implanted. this included foods and vitamins etc. if i remember the site i will let u know, try searching female fertility. also Barnes and Noble has a decent selection of books about increasing egg production.
