Baby`s brain fluid too high??

Has anyone been told by your doctor that your baby`s brain fluid is too high? I am 7 months 2 weeks pregnant, and i know that the baby is a little big (only a few oz larger that he should be). The doctor told me that the baby`s brain fluid should be about 10, and is right now measuring 10.6. I have to go for a more indepth ultrasound now. He said it is nothing that I sould be concerned about right now, but I am. I am very concerned. He said the number might be wrong because of the angle the ultrasound tech took the measurement. Anyone else have this kind of problem. Please help!

skittles0607 - 160 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I would wait till the next ultrasound. this could just be something that is happening to the baby while pregnant but when the little bundle is born it may go away. This is if there is something wrong. When i was preggo for my 2nd he had problems with one of his kidneys. i had to have an ultrasound like every 4 weeks or so. When the baby was born he was fine.

lady26 - 160 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Take it easy and wait for the next ultrasound, remember the doctor said the number could be wrong.

Cindie - 160 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Don't worry about it too much. Give it til your next appointment K?. So far in this pregnancy we've been thru alot. I'm 21w1d and he has Down Syndrome (i'm 21y/o, first preg.) And we find out this week a) if he has a heart defect because %40 of those babies do, and B) if he has a rare skin problem that I've got that can cause death from skin infection in about %25 of babies. If it turns out something is a little wrong, don't worry. Things can always be worse, that's how I'm viewing it right now. GOOD LUCK!

Baby3OnWay - 160 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I have been through a lot of things in both pregnancies.. not this one so far, that my Dr said is common. I know its hard not to be concerned right now but hang in there and let them do the tests that have to be done. For now I would start asking questions like OK if it is high what happens then, what is the worst case senerio and what not just so you can prepare yourself. My son has a "common" prob with his kidneys and was found at 4months prego, right now hes going through ultrasounds and next to see a urologist but worse case senario I found out then was an insert of a tube in the kindeys, OR it could correct itself by age 3.... it best to know now so you can prepare for the worst in the future. Best of luck and hopefully it corrects itself. My son also had a hernis when born that many said surgery for or I could choose to wait to see if it went away and I waited and i went on its own. You never know but I wish you the best of luck! all will be crossed here for you as well!

princess7680 - 161 days ago He also said that this kind of thing is pretty common.....he has had to send 2 other patients just this past week for this kind of ultrasound. And he also said that this usually corrects itself before birth. I am keeping my fingers crossed.....and legs....and eyes....and arms =)

princess7680 - 161 days ago He didn't mention hydrecephlus at all.....he didn't even seem to be concerned at all....but I still am. I am guessing if it was something very bad he would have had me come in to see him asap. He is letting me wait until Tuesday. Then after I see him, I will schedule my indepth ultrasound. Thank you for responding.

Christina1984 - 161 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) did he mention hydrecephlus ( spelling could be wrong)? that is fluid in the brain that can cause a baby to be born with a larger head. usually while ur baby's skull tissue is softer water may get in and be trapped as the skull gets harder. if its only measuring 10.6 i wouldnt be too concerned.good luck
