My friend just had a baby. He`s five weeks as of Saturday and he has HORRIBLE baby acne. It`s not the normal case you see. Any suggestions on how you can clear it up a little? Thanks for all your help. You can just post on my page.

my daughter got acne at 2 weeks old and her doctor said it was normal but later that week she had a red spot on her chin and i had one on my arm so i went to the hospital and my daughter and it ended up it was staph infection.... she had to stay for like 3 or so days with an iv... it really sucked because i am very careful when it comes to touching stuff (germaphobic)

For Baby Acne, dissolve a tablespoon or so of ordinary salt in a cup of
warm water, wash baby's face! It's painless, economical, and it really
works! The acne will look "more red" for an hour or so. You probably will not want to do this if you are planning on being out of your house. ;-) Do this three
or four times a day or as needed.

The best thing is just keep it clean. It will clear up on it's own. My youngest got it really bad. It lasts a couple months and then just clears up. It is caused by the hormones they get from you. There is nothing that will clear it up faster. The more you do to it the worse it will get. Do not try and pop them. It will make it worse. My doc said the best thing is let it clear up on its own. It will clear up. My daughter has beautiful skin now. She had it really bad. My husband didn't even want to take pics because it was so bad.

Acne may get worse b/c of reaction to formula or laundry detergent. I would wash baby only with water- NO soaps or chemicals. NO MEDICATIONS- most babies organ systems cannot handle medications at this time. She should also try washing babies clothes with IVORY snow detergent for babies and also examine her diet. If she is going crazy eating hamburgers and fries (greasy foods) then that might be the culprit as well.

I agree with- keep it clean, but not to over-wash it. Don't apply lotions or oils. Also, make sure baby isn't dressed too warm. My son would break out worse when he was overheated. It became a combination of baby acne and heat rash all together.

I don't know if Proactiv would be too strong or not, but maybe a dab wouldn't hurt.

I would tell her to bring it up to her dr. Maybe they can prescribe something for the baby. Tell her to use non fragrance items with the baby.. body soap and laudry. The baby may just be sensitive to these things. Also maybe it is the formula the baby is drinking.

Leave it alone it will clear up on it's own, I have known alot of baby with acne all over their face an body and it clears up on its own. Chemicals might make it worse

make sure they arent over cleaning it. babies dont need to be washed like we do. they can use a mild dove soap and not to put anything that has fragrance on him.

Because he is so little there is really nothing you can put on his face just wash it with baby soap, and dont pop them just let them be you dont want the face getting scared. tell her to talk to her doctor about it there mayve something they can prescribe

Yep, sorry to say, you really can't do anything. Wash his face with baby soap and water, don't put any lotion or anything on him though...that will make it worse. Both my boys had baby acne. My youngest is now 2 months old and it's almost gone. Tell them to just be patient :)

Let them be, don't "pop" or play with them as their skin is delicate and can scar easily.. not that I think you would dare do such a thing to a child. My son had a mild case and I asked the Dr about it and he said that its something they grow out of, just as young children the may have oily skin... just like some of us pregos but it will go away!

Hi, my second baby had a shocking red blochy face - actually it was more like tiny little red bumps all over her face, it was embarassing but she grew out of it. It didnt last long. she is now 12 and has gorgeous skin but scars easily and once suffered dermatitis.
